I am actually astonished at the difference in those pictures.
This girl is a walking advert for a healthy diet - this is what happens if you don’t look after yourself. I am not one of those people who are obsessed by carbs, having an Insta-worthy “clean” diet and never having junk food at all - I definitely advocate for a balanced diet with the odd “duck it” meal. But, my god, I just want to force feed this woman vegetables.
I cannot imagine that she’s getting anywhere near enough fibre, which can lead to major problems, including cancer, and isn’t talked about nearly enough. Then there’s the nutrients - she is probably deficient in iron, vitamin c, b12 and maybe vitamin d depending on how much sun she gets. She must feel like utter crap - that will all lead to low energy, brittle hair and loss, dry skin, weak nails, mouth ulcers, bleeding gums, poor vision, the list goes on. Her teeth will be losing their enamel from all the Diet Coke, and rotting from all the sugar in the food she eats. That’s just short term effects. Long term is metabolic disease, diabetes, heart disease, some cancers etc etc. Then there is the mental health element - if you’re not eating stuff that’s good for you, and you feel crap all the time, it will be far harder to feel mentally well.
I really hope she reads this. It’s not cute to treat your body like a garbage pail. A balanced diet full of vitamins, minerals, fibre and protein is non-negotiable if you want to stay physically well. I worry that a lot of women especially get this idea into their heads that to be healthy, you have to live off raw kale and seeds. It’s not true. You can even still have a KFC once in a while!
