Having said all that about child friendly games......I bloody love Mortal Kombat! I'm terrible at fighting games but love the story and all the single player content in MK, paying for cosmetics etc and seeing yourself improve is so much fun. I really hope the rumours of Netherrealm's next game being a Marvel fighter are true!

World of Warcrafter here 👋

Although I'm on one of my getting my life back breaks.
I used to play World of Warcraft. Absolutely loved it. Stopped when an expansion update meant it didn’t run on my old laptop, and I’m too scared to go back to it again now because I know I’ll get hooked.

I had a Nintendo DS back in the day, now I have a switch lite. I was wondering whether anyone had any game suggestions for me? I currently only play Animal Crossing, so anything cutesy or calming recs would be appreciated

Ordered AC Valhalla as a little Christmas gift to myself (it was on offer on Amazon). Excited to play, but just started AC Brotherhood.

Civilisation 5 has always been my obsession. It must be 10 years old knew but still awesome. Almost infinite replay ability if you use modded civs.

I have a few calming games on my switch, I enjoy voex I think it's called, its like a music game, an also townscaper is really relaxing, just building up little houses to make a town

For the cute games I think the atelier games are cute, I also have story of seasons which is kind of like a stardew vally game but its 3d, its really cute, little chubby animals are adorable lol

If you like animal crossing, stardew valley is similar!

Maybe a Pokémon game? I've heard the diamond and pearl ones are very buggy so wouldn't recommend, but there's let's go Pikachu / Eevee or Pokémon Sword/Shield (they get released in pairs the only difference between the 2 versions is some Pokémon can only be caught in one version)

Was payday this week so I've treated myself to mario kart on switch as that was always good for a laugh with family back when they had a Wii so might come in handy over Xmas to defuse any tensions!

Story of Seasons games or Harvest Moon, they are cute farming type games!

Am late, but you might like Yonder. No combat or damage system, just wandering around a cute landscape collecting little fearies that help you clean up magic smog while you do quests for villagers and look for little cats.

Anyone else played Horizon Zero Dawn? I have it completed 99% but one last bit of armour I can't get to! Can't wait for Forbidden West to come out.

Definitely recommend Stardew Valley for the Switch. It's very mindful. I really want Pokemon Snap but waiting for it to go down in price!

Switch aside, we've managed to blag a working ps4 from a friend of ours for £50 ❤. Up until now we've had a ps2 and Xbox360 to keep us entertained so this is a step up!

We both like dungeon crawler/couch coop games - we loved Baldricks Gate on ps2 and Diablo 3 on the Xbox and I'm always down for fun local multiplayer games like Overcooked. I've bought us Divinity 2: Original Sin, but if anyone has any other recommendations for ps4 that would be fab!

I played it for a 3/4 months till I completed all the main missions and really enjoyed it. Most of the stories in games bore me and I skip through them but I thought the story in it was great.
Forbidden West looks like one of the first big releases of 2022 so you won't have long to wait. I will probably get it after a few months. Day one game prices are through the roof these days.
That's quite an achievement doing everthing but one bit of armour. Can you not google how to get it for 100% :ROFLMAO:

If anyone is interested in no-combat decision based story games, Disco Elysium is on a good sale price on Steam. You are a detective who has forgotten everything about himself but you need to solve a murder - you walk around a town but all the detective work is done through conversations and text, it's genius and really bleeping funny, I really recommend it!

I *finally* got round to signing up to Steam and bought Baldur's Gate, Baldur's Gate II, Neverwinter Nights and Icewind Dale in the sale for a grand total of £16.61. I think Neverwinter Nights was £40 for the base game when it first came out! Looking forward to playing them all again, I've not ever managed to finish the first three, but I have a lot of downloading to do first.

I put my Christmas money towards a new gaming laptop and I’m so excited. It’s nothing fancy, certainly not top end but it will run most modern games comfortably, not on max settings but it’s a huge upgrade from my current laptop which is years old.

I can’t wait to get stuck into the world of PC Gaming. I’ve only really played the sims and zoo tycoon on pc in recent years. Planet Zoo is something I’m really looking forward to playing. Might give Cities Skylines a go too. I’ve noticed pc games can be bought quite cheaply so that’s a big plus.

Agreed, game pass is amazing value for money especially if you want to be able to try out lots of games without committing to buying anything! You can also stream games instead of downloading them, which is good if you want to try something out without actually needing to install it first or don't have a ton of space - the quality suffers a little so it's not ideal for all types of games but I've been using a lot recently and it's great for anything single player.

Another one for Game Pass here; husband uses it all the time and one of the Paw Patrol games has appeared on there, which my boy is happy about. Saves me spending £30 on mediocre game.

I got Yoshi’s crafted world on the switch for Christmas and it’s definitely becoming my favourite game. I also bought My Time at Portia as it’s been suggested to me a few times. I might buy Pokémon Diamond next.
