Unrest in Iran

Nioh Berg is advocating for the restauration of the monarchy in Iran. That same monarchy that had a ruthless secret police that relentlessly brutalized its own citizens. Many Iranians despise both the islamic Iranian regime and the monarchy. But she will claim she is the voice of all Iranians. If she was really for freedom in Iran she would advocate for Iranians to be able to choose what kind of government they want.
I believe that Pahlavi doesn’t wish for it to be like his father’s time and would rather it be a democratic society. I think the idea is he would be head and then democratic elections will start. Of course the plan and the execution of that plan can be very different.

I wonder if she is a regular in the other place?

Well she doesn’t lack self confidence. Critical thinking, empathy and open mindedness, not so much.
I do feel with this war there is not a lot of sympathy for Iranians from quite a few sections of society. People are angry that Israel and US are bombing Iran but also seem angry that a good chunk of Iranian society both at home and in the diaspora do not want the current government or agree with the religious extremism of it all. On social media, forums etc I’ve seen people report on the war but not talk about or express sympathy with the human suffering at the hands of the regime.

BIB is quoted for truth. After all wasn’t the Iranian Revolution itself supposed to open the door to a more egalitarian state? Guess a 50 year detour into religious fanaticism wasn’t part of the “plan”.

I would hope Pahlavi keeps to his word if he was able to get into power but I also am not blindly trusting in him.
It’s rather sad looking at photos from the revolution and all the young people thinking there will be a new, hopeful future but it turned to rot. My friend sent me a photo of two women protesting in 1979 and said they were later executed by the very people they fought to get into power. All this loss of life.

Yes. Revolutions tend to eat their own. And the appetite is voracious. The Proscriptions of Sulla, the Warring States Period in China, Robespierre and the French Reign of Terror, the Stalinist Purges, the founding of the Islamic Republic. An awful lot of old comrades killing each other.

I also think a lot of people are angry that the US, Israel and Iran are just dropping bombs willy nilly all over the place.

The rest of the Iranian womens team seem to be heading back to Iran. ☹

And what exactly do her political views have to do with the safety or otherwise of the Women's football team? Is she wrong to express concerns for their safety? Do you think they will be welcomed back by the regime with zero consequences? Does being a monarchist mean you can't express a concern? Because that sounds very absolutist, and I thought you were a fan of nuance.

Interesting also that the revolution simply replaced on set of brutal secret police with another. In effect rendering the whole thing pointless.
You cannot be a feminist and defend the policy of the islamic iranian regime but it doesn't prevent Nioh Berg to claim that women supporting the regime are feminists. At best they are cosplaying being feminists.

Speaking of cosplaying, no one is actually sure who is behind this profile. The fact that this person expresses no concerns about the safety of Iranians being bombed and keeps on praising Trump even though even a five year old could acknowledge the lack of coherent plan is quite suspicious.

And you don’t think that the BIB is exactly the point they are making?

And also if you find it suspicious, who do you think it actually is?

They usually end up with someone trying to make himself King anyway, even if not in name.

I think labelling someone supporting something deeply not feminist as feminist is in fact a strategy to discredit the feminist movement.

I have no idea but Iranian activists that I follow that have a documented presence outside of social medias have a more nuanced view of the current situation. They denounce the brutality of the islamic regime but also document and relay the impact of the war in Iran. But who knows, maybe she is real, afterall Reza Pahlavi has been so far silent about Iranian civilians dying and being displaced because of the war whilst he mourned the deaths of American soldiers. You would think that a patriot would also put the focus on Iranians no matter who kill them.

Well that’s 4D chess. 😲😲

I just think she’s calling out the hypocrisy of far left activists. She’s not the only one.

That’s really disgusting that he hasn’t mentioned the Iranian people killed.

@Troutpout I really wouldn't bother wasting my energy with that idiot on the 'other' thread.

Their idea of 'facts and evidence' is inputing a biased question (or set of questions) into an AI engine and pasting the rather (predictable) bias AI generated answer on various thread as 'evidence.'

Really is 🤣🤣🤣 when they've been demanding you provide actual evidence and theirs is hardly that.

AI engines are well known to provide rather nonsensical and Gobbledygook answers.

Yet some still haven't grasped this. 🤦

Also think they need a lesson in 'Far left racism' (anti-semitism), which they've demonstrated on numerous occasions they are more than happy to engage in.

Hence why I finally stuck them on ignore - sick and tired of their utter double standards.

I put that user on ignore at the beginning of this thread when they didnt want to actually acknowledge what was being said, and then would ask for evidence’ and when said evidence would be provided would then turn and twist it to fit their narrative.

it was very exhausting having this mental strain and then trying to debate common sense with someone who has no clue what the reality of life for those of us who have lived through this is like.

They showed their true colours and only wanted an echo chamber of their views
