Unrest in Iran

The UN has been anti Israel from the start. If the world was just Palestine, Israel, Iran and America would face consequences for their behaviour such as sanctions and being put before the international human rights counsel. However the latter will be difficult and basically a non starter and from the UK at least we have sanctions on parts of Iran and Israel. We don’t have sanction on America because if we did it was severely damage our trading, the £, our security (as we trade information), affect jobs, etc. The people who be harmed by the sanctions wouldn’t be Americans but everyday Brits just trying to get along in a cost of living crisis and that’s not fair to us.
What sort of repercussions do you want? Iran and Israel are bombed almost daily, innocent people are being killed and another generation is being damaged. I don’t think any sane person wants America to be bombed because it never hurts those in power, just innocent people. Israel’s actions have severely damaged the safety of Jews worldwide - almost every week there are marches that are dressed up as being ‘anti Zionist’ but are full of anti semitism. Look at the rise in anti semitism in the UK, the fire on Jewish ambulances, the terror attack at the synagogue.
So what’s the answer?
Clearly the sanctions don't work as it at the end of it, it's the citizens that are again paying the price of it all.
No one has said anything about bombing other countries. Who wants that apart from people in power? It is the age old story with the likes of israel though, they have used the line of "we have the right to defend ourselves" so that should also apply when they bomb other countries, they have the right to defend themselves also. It is horrific and shouldnt be happening on either side though. No good ever comes from war.
But the real answer is that someone, the un? I don't know, need to actually be treating the likes of netanyahu and trump as what they are, war criminals. They should be overthrown from their government's and placed in prison but with more time that goes by, I doubt anything even close to that will ever happen.

I think sadly in this instance the best that can be hoped for is that they are voted out of office. So many leaders should have faced prison due to their behaviour (Tony Blair for example) but they never did. It’s a sad state of affairs.

Worrying thing is though, that's not anything that's guaranteed to happen. And then of course, could the next person be even worse?

Iran have the absolute worst of it. They have the regime and the IRGC to contend with in the country and outside the country they have Israel and America trying to bomb them to a version of democracy but harming innocent people in the process. Then you also have the useful idiots on social media etc believing the propaganda that Iran is free, women aren’t hurt for not wearing a headscarf, the protesters were just Mossad or causing trouble whilst lamenting the death of hardline clerics. It must be like screaming into a void whilst stuck in quicksand for the people.

It's hard because obviously Iran are getting it hard just now between their government and the war...its interesting though re voting trump and netanyahu out because who's to say the voting system in America and Israel also won't become rigged like with Iran, if its not already...would we ever really know?
I don't think it's a competition though. I think at the moment every country that's been on the receiving end of trump and netanyahus "concern" are all in absolute hell. Obviously for different reasons etc but I wouldn't say any is worse than any other now.

One of those people you're replying to has previously repeated nonsensical conspiracy theories about Israel killing Charlie Kirk, amongst other things.

Their post is just the same repackaged blood libel that's been circulating online since October 7th.

They don't care about anything they can't blame on Israel.

A school trip in the Islamic Republic is taking 7 year olds to see a public execution. 19 year olds are being hanged right now, after being tortured and forced to sign a false confession.
10s of thousands of unarmed protesters killed over 2 days in January. 47 years of this. Who cares? Not many, they prefer to throw these people under the bus as it doesn’t suit their Trump or Netanyahu bashing agenda.
