Back to the current civil war going on within the Labour party and more importantly our government. Good to see PM Starmer carrying on with his job with everything going on around him.
Streeting and Burnham already locking horns, each trying to scupper the other. Brexit back on the agenda from weasel Wes, Burnham trying to deflect, although we know he is in favour getting back into the EU, but shushhh for the time being as 65% of Makerfield voted for Brexit. Just shows that they will say anything to get into power.
Politics has always been divisive in the past but this has upped it to another level. Seems quite undemocratic that a small percentage of the population in Makerfield, (no disrespect to Makerfield), then 403 Labour rats in a sack squabbling to determine the PM of this country. What about the rest of us who would rather like a say in it all? They will be knocking on our doors in three years time.
Not an advocate of Starmer, but my goodness never has there been a time that Starmer is welcome relief from these two power hungry individuals.

Corky? No that’s not him. He’s a white guy, late 30’s, he has built up a following on TikTok with his political opinions but never, ever questions Reform or Farage. Pretty sure he’s a paid creator and is funded by them to promote stories of the day that lean in to their narrative! He claims to have previously worked for the child support agency. He’s very big on picking on the disabled too! I mean yeah, we have issues with the benefits system but the disability fraud is so minute that there are bigger things to worry over. He doesn’t seem to think so… it’s poor people, immigrants or Starmer who are to blame for everything.
Typical mid life crisis male, he built a following up and now wanks over himself and charges subscription fees!
No idea why Burnham is even trying, the figures for Reform in that constituency make for bleak reading as a Labour Candidate! I feel like he just likes the airtime.

The people I know who have started attending Catholic church regularly are just going through the motions so their kids can get into the better rated Catholic schools.
Burnham has made it clear he wants to career climb, so won't the residents of Makerfield know that a vote for Burnham means an eventual by election some time relatively soon?
I dont think so. He can still be PM and MP for that constituency. Keir Starmer is still MP for Holborn and St Pancras. So him becoming PM doesnt mean he vacates the MP role in that constituency. If that is what you mean.
I assume Andy can't slink back to being Mayor if he loses the by-election?

Both roles are compatible, however he so transparent that Makerfield is a mere stepping stone to a higher place. Doing the leg work for 30 days then saying ta-ra, whether being PM or going back to being Mayor.
Not sure how Burnham has the brass neck to do that, it just shows what kind of a man he is. Ruthless, full of his own self importance, sees an opportunity when he has done none of the work and thinks he can walk straight into No10.
Why am I surprised with any of these MP's? Hope those good people of Makerfield think before they put their cross in the box.

Yeah. Whether it is right for him to become PM that way or not is another question. I think it is clear he will stand for leader as soon as he becomes MP. Theres no rule that the PM has to be an MP. The only really issue would be accountability to parliament, but there are ways round that with select committee sessions if it came to it.
Obviously in reality the chances of a non-MP being chosen as PM by a party are minimal, unless you had a situation where a PM died or something and they wanted a caretaker who wasn't going to stand in the subsequent leadership vote, in which case they might have a Lord do it for a couple of weeks.

As for the people of makersfield - imagine knowing the person you voted in was unlikely to be able to spend any time on you because they would immediately be spirited off to PM land
