Are the crimes
You'd be great as an intern for the BBC.

43 arrests made in total.

20 people arrested were linked with the Unite the Kingdom protest,
12 were associated with a pro-Palestine Nakba Day march.
11 arrests were not linked to either group.

The force added:

Nine hate crime-related arrests at Unite the Kingdom and two at the Nakba march.

A further seven alleged hate crime offences at the pro-Palestine event remain under investigation.

There were also arrests for support of a proscribed organisation that would fail in with hate crime legislation.

I saw a video of a lady being arrested at the unite the kingdom thing for having a sword, she was in some kind of costume and the sword wasn't real although it looked it. I just wonder why someone would think it was a good idea 😂

From your article the Met's own numbers show hate crime arrests at the Nakba march were two.

There was one arrest from the list above for a proscribed organisation.

Proscribed organisations are legally filled under the terrorism category. They are not counted as hate crimes by the police.

There’s more being investigated, terrorism is classed as more serious than hate crime.

The article you shared shows the same data. 9 hate crime arrests at Unite the Kingdom, 2 at the Nakba march.

You're right that terrorism is serious, but it's still in it's own category and that doesn't change the original claim about 'more hate crime incidents.' That claim wasn't supported by the data.

#BritishValues means the 7 alleged are innocent until proven guilty. Investigation is not conviction alone. The police are looking into it . They have not proven anything yet though.

The fact they’re being looked at means something took place.

Police investigate thousands of reports every year that turn out to be false, mistaken, or not criminal.

An investigation means someone reported something. It does not mean something happened for definite.

Even if all 7 are found to be guilty 7+2 = 9.

The same number and equal to the number of hate crimes at the TR march reported by the met police.

Would you then still frame it as "more at the Pally march"?

Words matter. You know they do when a CNN anchor can called a 7 year old Palestinian child a woman.

Seeing as none have been charged yet, the 9 are also innocent until proven guilty.

There were three times as many people at the UTK march according to the Met. Interestingly, not three times as many arrests though.

Apparently it was.

It wasn’t too long ago old women were being arrested on terrorism charges for holding signs or attending protests, i think the police can be quite liberal with what they class as terrorism. Would be interested to know what the alleged crimes were before making a judgment.

Why on earth would you bring a sword with you?! What an absolute idiot.
Who’s she meant to be dressed up as anyway?
It is a stupid thing to do. There was a man dressed as king Arthur there. She might have been dressed as Boudicca? Let's not pretend she was there to hurt anyone though, those kind of people usually shout Islamic phrases before they attack.

I'm sure she wasn't aware what Boudica did to London then 😂 🔥

There's some more detail about the arrests in this article https://www.archive.is/oldest/https...-the-kingdom-rally-pro-palestine-march-london

At the pro-Palestinian march, one person was arrested for holding a sign reading: “Globalise the intifada”. It is alleged to be a call for violence against Jews. Another person was arrested for a sign pledging support for the proscribed group Palestine Action, and another for a sign reading: “We will not surrender, victory or martyrdom”.
Police are studying a further seven videos of written slogans and chants in case they cross the criminal threshold of anti-Jewish hate speech, amid claims police are stifling legitimate protest.

And more about the Tommy arrests

Among the arrests of those attending the Unite the Kingdom rally were several instances of alleged hateful insults directed at officers. One officer from a minority-ethnic background is alleged to have been told to “duck off back home”, two were allegedly subjected to a term of homophobic abuse, and another officer was allegedly told “take your religion and duck off”.
Two suspects already arrested on suspicion of other offences also allegedly racially abused officers, directing the N-word at them.
One man was arrested for actual bodily harm after getting on a coach about to take pro-Palestinian protesters home and allegedly punching someone in the face after being told to leave.
Other arrests included three for holding placards, including ones that said “duck Islam” and “Christ is king, duck Islam”. Earlier the crowds had been led in a chant of “Christ is king” from the stage.
