Because they're idiots and still believe the 'famine' nonsense
Liat Kozma and Lee Mordechai from Hebrew University, Jerusalem just produced a report last month or so.

Amnesty called it "man-made and deliberately orchestrated".

The IPC explicitly called the situation "entirely man-made" .

Of course you know best though.

Why are the Selfie Yachts still trying to get food to Hamas?
[/QUOTE]

To quote another poster in this thread : "What you can't do is hold ALL people who happen to share the same religion or ethnic background to account for another nations actions."

If you can understand that it is antisemitic to hold all Jewish people responsible for the actions of Netanyahu's government.

Can you see the double standard? How can you claim civilian aid to Palestinians is automatically "getting food to Hamas".

The Freedom Flotillas carry basic food and aid. The only reason people are now shocked by Ben-Gvir’s video is because it shows European and Western citizens being forced with zip-ties this time. This isn't a one off anomaly; it's the exact same system Palestinians are subjected.

Even South Korea has now entered the diplomatic fray:

"What is the legal basis for Israel seizing or sinking ships, including those carrying our citizens who were volunteering for Gaza? Israel is violating all minimum international norms. "

That last line is why it matters for us at home in the uk. Launching armed military raids completely outside its territory is not a small thing, it sets a dangerous precedent.

Because it'll never get to the civilians, it would be seized by Hamas long before reaching them.

Especially on something as a boat full of people boasting about what good people they are.

Humble, generous man
I dont think political parties should be accepting donations from people / companies overseas. He's lived in Thailand for over two decades, what stake does he have in the inner workings of the UK political system.

More cringe. She tries to brazen the heckler out and ignore it but eventually she cracks and can't resist lashing back. But what is this "it's not very British" nonsense accusation that the labour lot keep throwing at people recently. I presume one of their media think tanks has told them to say it. Well it doesn't work. On the contrary Rachel, I'd say the bloke in the tipper truck is displaying far more Britishness and seems far more down to earth than any politician. At least he is trying to do a day's work whereas most of the government hasn't ever had a proper job outside of politics or dodgy charities (looking at you Kyle and Phillipson).

Where is the evidence of famine? There are just spurious reports based on information fed to them by the Palestine Ministry of Health and we all know who controls them.

As much as non nationals can be elected and change the inner workings?? The British political system is a joke. Open season.

I think that's a different point. People who legally live, work, pay tax, and build lives in the UK should have some political participation because they are directly affected by decisions made here.

People living abroad long term are less directly affected by UK policy, so large political donations seems questionable to me.

I’m going to be extremely generous and guess this kind of thing happens to councillors across all the parties, but what a shitshow.
Why on earth did she stand if she doesn’t understand the job she’s supposed to be doing?

More smoke and mirrors from Burnham/politicians, when are they going to be honest with us? Errrrr, never.

He is a strange man, just dancing to whichever tune appeals to him and to make himself front and centre. Ducks out of Westminster, where he failed to become party leader, to go to be the Mayor of Greater Manchester, basically because he is from that area and perceived to be the Messiah ...... he's not the Messiah, he's a very naughty boy.

Good to have a person on the ground giving us the real facts @terfette

Perhaps he thought calling the paps, then running around in too short shorts and a 1980's Everton shirt would make him seem like a man of the people. No wonder he is talking about the Thatcher era in politics, his attire is from that time too.

You’re entitled to your opinion .I don’t agree that non citizens should be able to govern or make political decisions that affect another country.

Okay.

Just to go back to my original point. Do you think political parties should be able to accept donations from people who have been living overseas for decades?

If they’re citizens of the country I don’t see why not? I take it you’re against political funding in its entirety then? We could be doing with our £ billions back from Zelenskyy
