My sister was murdered by her husband 6 years ago.. I know exactly how the family feels, their whole world is after collapsing in around, they're trying to make sense of what has happened and how are they going to survive the rest of their lives without her. When my sister died many family members found out through social media and it was absolutely horrendous for them. We HATED all the shares, newspaper articles, radio, people who jumped on the bandwagon. It is so hard when all you see is her face plastered everywhere and a lot of ignorant people making it all about them!!

Sorry if people disagree with me on this but it must be hell for that private family to have their daughter suddenly become the poster child for femicide in Ireland.
They are grieving and her face is literally everywhere all over the country and her name used for hashtags and bandwagons.

It drives me mad altogether when women start sharing their "experiences" and say things like a man made a sexual comment to me 10 years ago....as if you could compare that to the trauma of being murdered!!!

I'm sorry but what have we become at all as a nation, the Irish were always private with their business and now it's a free for all on social media.Rant over.

Some craic coming on promoting a mental health app while you’re barely recognisable as you’re using Instagram filters which ironically causes most of the mental health issues in teenagers these days!

Imagine telling meJoolie and her ma your deepest darkest thoughts, nahhhhhh FFS!!!! Do these companies not research any of the people they use to promote their products??.

Julie, who was bateing it up the road last year, approaching a stranger’s workplace because she didn’t like an opinion she had, threatening all sorts, she wasn’t too worried about that lady’s mental health then!

Julie, who was living it large during lockdown partying with her pals and kegs on tap while the rest of us were locked down and struggling with our mental health!

Julie, who is also currently shilling CBD jellies and drinks for mental health!

Julie, who left her 4 year old twins home with Covid with a babysitter and Covid last week so that she could go on the piss!

Julie, who was making Tik Toks in coffins whilst many Irish people were taking their last breath due to a virus that was gripping the world!

Yeah Fettle, now that’s some superb market research!
GIVE ME A FUCKING BREAK!!!!

(Now I’m sure there’s many more examples to add to the list but I’ve got to go get ready for my real job!)

In all seriousness, if you’re a company, who believes that Julie Haynes is the correct fit for your brand, then it’s time to sit down, crack open a bottle of whiskey and drown your fucking sorrows…. Then liquidate your company and start a new business plan!!!!

I just can’t even fathom how the family must feel having gone from being a reserved and respectful family, to having a late late show dedicated to their daughter two days after she died, before they’ve even had the funeral.

The coverage on this has been way over the top imo and has moved into intrusive territory. Everyone needs to take a step back now and put their own feelings aside and remember there is a family in mourning at the centre of this. I’d imagine they can’t even turn on the tv or radio for a bit of escapism as everything is about their daughter and how everyone else feels that she is gone.

We have completely lost the run of ourselves with this. Let the family mourn their daughter, sister, niece.. and let the Gardai proceed with their investigations. The hysterics on social media and using her to show how sound and virtuous people are needs to stop. I said to my partner last night i know people mean well but if this was a family member of mine I would be so angry and frustrated at how everyone is acting. As a deeply private person I don’t think I would be able to cope.

Hmmmm is she trying to turn this catfish story into a victim thing? As in imply that she could have been attacked or something? The timing of all this is very tasteless IMO

I hate to say it but some people are turning poor Ashling’s death into circus, making it all about themselves and how many likes they can rack up. All of it seems a million miles from how Ashling lived her life.

That’s a whole new level of low …. To say you’re afraid to stay alone in your own warm comfortable home after a poor girl was murdered while out for a run in a town which is 2 hours and 15 mins from your house!
Just WOW! How can she think posting that is in good taste! Making poor Ashling’s horrific murder about herself, it’s horrendous to use that as an excuse not to stay in your own home with your children!

Long time lurching, first time posting. I normally leave people off but I am actually so angry to be honest.
It goes back to the Covid. The poor me, the shur God love me, the constant moaning about the kids.
Hello, I came out of hospital with my newborn baby and within days myself and my 4 children tested positive including my 9 day old baby. I was exhausted from just giving birth as we all know it takes time to recover and then Covid hit but you know what I used those days to recover with my children, to just rest and be present with them as we not get this opportunity so often in our busy lives. I didn’t resent being with my children, I just accepted what is.
Now by no means am I the perfect parent. I too have children with complex needs and by God it is tough but we don’t go around constantly cursing (the language is disgusting) constantly bitching about them. I too became a single parent but if anything that brought me even closer to my children.
For God sake GROW UP and COP ON!

Ok got the email. Not sure what the reasons are but seems pretty clear that they're not working with her at the moment.

Vestites are transvestite vermin. Often, rats and mice prefer to dress up as the opposite gender & are then called ‘Transvestite Vermin’ but Vestites to those of us in the know!

Will be interesting to see if the School Principal accepts this “small gift” for Ashling’s pupils, from a stranger, in the days/weeks after the horrific murder of their Teacher, by a stranger!

ffs 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️
A school would have a Critical Incident Policy which would outline who would be responsible for what in this case and which person would liase with the National Education Psychologist assigned to the school. I doubt any school principal or psychologist would think it would be appropriate to give 1st Class children a present from a looper on Instagram. Would she ever just fuck off the absolute half-wit.

I'd liken attending something like this as attending a funeral. It's not a photo opportunity, or a chance to grab a few likes on social media. It's a solemn occasion and people should have a bit more respect. It's depressing how people are carrying on.
Agree 👍.. I seen a few vigils as I scrolled last night and what struck me was the amount of people phone in hand videoing and taking photos of the flowers and messages and candles etc... not being in the moment .. not silently thinking of Ashling and her family... wouldn't even dream of taking my phone out ...

Absolutely disgusting. She has jumped on the grief porn train in this country right now. I'm sorry but people are using this awful story for clickbait. That poor woman has been used a hashtag and social media fodder for others to peddle their faux empathy. Julie has reached another all time low. Scared my arse! She probably had a few gins and couldn't legally drive home the absolute cretin.
Thank god someone has said this !!

If I see one more person comparing an incident when a guy catcalled them from a car to a beautiful young girl being murdered in broad daylight I will explode.
