Yeah, I remember a few vlogs back when he said he had to get back in the gym, next reel he's eating a calorific 3 course dinner washed down with fine Champers! This guy certainly was born with a silver spoon in his mouth.

The way he refers to her as things like “the lovely Millie” is like she’s a hostess on a tv game show in the 80’s. Purely for decoration, no agency whatsoever. It may very well be that she’s not comfortable talking on the vlogs, in which case leave her out of it. Say she’s accompanying you but don’t feature her. But having her as a “decoration” swaying her ample bum down the train in a tight dress looks a tad exploitative. And given the number of mentions sh3 gets in the comments it’s working.
Also, him matching his tie and pocket square to her pink dress… naff.

Did anyone else catch the "caviar bump" he did in the latest video? You're a mid 30s man on a Disney cruise ffs, why are you pretending to snort a line of coke in a restaurant? It was really out of place and childish. Millie looked like she was dying inside.

I can't imagine him doing any drug, but I guess he would pretend he does coke soley because it's called the rich man's drug. He always looks so alien whenever he tries to be relatable, makes me kind of feel bad for him.

She is a bit...vacant though. She's probably lovely and just doesn't like being on camera. But it's always a forced grin and wide eyes with her.

I can't work out if he has always been a tool or if the success has got to him, but I don't enjoy his videos like i uses to.

Actually, travelling everywhere during pandemic and bitching about service levels not being what they were. And taking a private jet to the antarctic (when I really went off him) ....he's always been a tool

Oh, no doubt he makes a lot of money now. I wonder how much odoo have paid to push their platform out in nearly every video he does.

Just watching his last video (Miami to Alaska sleeper train) and his monotone voice becomes irritating. He talks to his dad/mum/girlfriend like they're children. I actually enjoy seeing his dad, I think he's more camera friendly than Will is.

Downielive did a much better miami to Alaska series if you're interested, and he did it first lol

I see this knob has just released a new video on a cruise ship. Not sure I can watch the whole thing... the intro alone is annoying to the extreme.

It’s one thing to say “I went on this Uber expensive trip”, but to do so in a manner where you feel condescended to straight up in the intro is a whole other level.

See I disagree on that tbh, if I could afford it I'd do it. I love that era and always wanted to try that style of rail travel.

That said, he doesn't make it look as opulent and specisl as I expected

Has anyone figured out his real job/former job? I see in another thread that someone mentioned his parents live in a very posh area. So there’s likely family money but there are lots of guys doing the same trips with far less views so he’s not filming anything unique.


Rocky Mountaineer, Orient Express, train across Canada, Queen Mary to NY - these have popped up in my recommends so many times I wonder if anyone on board is not a YouTuber!! But the other channels do not get the millions of views. Makes me wonder if he has a background in marketing or something because his success is baffling to me.

Take the train across Canada. Jeb Brooks, Wingin in with Paul Lucas, DownieLive all did this same trip. Trek Trendy gets 5 million views. The others do not! The content is nearly identical in them all.

A Disney vlogger shared their earnings for 1million views and it was about $10,000 for 1 million. These travel vloggers would have to be getting more than that since they (and often their spouses) seem to be living off YT alone and with a fraction of Trek Trendy’s views.

Hopefully someone has some more insight into him because I’ve been looking at his views and wondering what I’m missing for a long time

Whenever people ask him on IG about his "real job" he insists travel vlogging is his only job. I can only assume he throws everything onto a travel credit card to get the points to fund the next trip, and so on and so on?

Why the algorithm favours him is what I can't work out. He does nothing different to than many others, and some do it better (especially the train stuff). I can only think his (questionable) behaviour during the pandemic gave him a jump on the algorithm when no one else was travelling.

He says he focuses on luxury travel, which is fine, but he actually doesn't provide any real insight or experience as to why. He just likes living the high life and has got lucky with the algorithm supporting him.

That smug smirk/smile he does is by far the worst thing he does. Its so off putting.

His views on YouTube are insane compared to other travel channels and he must make a fortune! 2 million views to most video's and he promotes loads of stuff. If I was earning his money I would make sure I had some better clothes on than a Nasa hoodie.

When you put it all together like that the numbers make more sense. For Trek Trendy and for the others where whole families seem to be living off YT only.

I still don’t get it though tbh. The name doesn’t fit the content, the NASA thing is so annoying, the skinny jeans are cringe worthy and his trips have been covered by others. He’s also more inclined towards shots of his boots going up the steps of a train than anything substantial. I guess YT is the new showbiz though. There’s lots of actors and singers that make me go “why” too! Of all the people who tried to make it this guy has an acting career Maybe Trek Trendy isn’t actually a real mastermind of the algorithm and he just got lucky!

Jeb Brooks just did recent Trek topic Eastern and Oriental Express. I’ve been a long time fan of Jeb’s, so to see this itinerary from a far more approachable perspective was awesome.

I agree, although he also doesn't quite fit in the luxury world either. The NASA stuff is cringe and just a gimmick at this point, but like you say, who pins a brand badge on for dinner. Especially in a luxury environment.

He's such a strange guy.

I still don't understand how he says it takes him 3 weeks to edit. His videos are all the same structure and shots. He should have it down by now, and also be able to film economically so he doesn't waste time. I can only assume it takes him that long because he doesn't actually sit down and edit for long periods, like a full time job. But just does it when he feels like it in-between all his trips.

I get that he's a 'travel reviewer' but it seems like such a waste going to all these various places just for a night or two, or sometimes just a few hours. He might be able to tick off countries from his list but it's hardly the same as visiting them properly. His body clock must be screwed!
