I keep getting ‘dear person behind me’ hoodie advertisements and it’s making me feel uneasy. It’s a suicide prevention thing, but the company don’t state what percentage of their profits go to mental health charities. I am reluctant to spend £20 on something that isn’t actually supporting people in crisis, I’d rather give the money directly to CALM.

People still posting their bloody Wordle scores, it’s been like six years guys. Even worse are the ones who post a little comment about how challenging they found it.

And worse than that? The guy that makes his little comment a clue to the answer 😐

People scare mongering about medication or birth control. There was a video of a woman weight lifting with the caption "In your 20s you will be told to take birth control by a doctor, its very important you don't listen to them" Although weight gain and acne are side effects for some people, it doesn't happen for everyone. Birth control is the only thing that has helped my severe period pains and other side effects caused by Endometriosis. Without it, I'd be struggling to hold up a full time job and having atleast 2 weeks per month where I struggle to complete simple tasks due to the pain. This woman was claiming that women who take birth control (Or period pain medication) are uneducated and should stop listening to medical professionals. There are loads of medications that can cause weight gain and acne as a side effect, not just birth control or period pain medication. Some people just can't look past their own experiences and see how things could be helping others, they choose to shame instead.

Exactly, also I think it's forgotten how much birth control has (just in thr sense of preventing pregnancy) has been beyond life changing for women. Speaking to my mum (who's in her 70s) about the sudden availability of it in the 60s/70s and how revolutionary it was for her and her friends is amazing. I'd say "causing acne or wight gain" are such minor things in the scheme of it regardless!

Weight gain if you take birth control or weight gain by carrying a baby. Can't win really.

I think birth control can obviously be great for some but it's crazy to me how easily it gets prescribed (or used to at least) and without any follow up. I was given it by a gynecologist when i was 15 and it was not good for me. Then in my 20s i had a mini pill that completely ruined my mental health, followed up by mirena coil that was even worse and i was told it's completely impossible for it to have any effect on mood which turned out to be wrong 🙃 so while it can be great, some doctors give it away like sweets without any thought or follow up

Memes about people being shot by ICE. I have seen these be both pro and anti ICE and it is so bleeping tacky to start creating Memes of someone before their body has had chance to go cold.

Yes, there definitely should be check ups for people who are on it. I have check ups every 3 months and I am told to ring my doctor if I get any symptoms that I suspect could be caused by birth control (I am lucky to not have any side effects currently) Doctors shouldn't prescribe it and then leave it up to the woman what she does with it. It should be treated like any other medication that is prescribed, with check ups and follow ups.

Are you outside the UK?

I think that level of follow-up after being prescribed birth control would be very unusual here? At least in my experience.
I think it's great they're so diligently monitoring you though!

Just how relentlessly nasty people are to each other for no reason or because of the most minor differences in their political beliefs.

The internet has always had that but social media has made it inescapably omnipresent and it infects every subject ever.

The good thing is, I am spending less time online. Starting to read more actual books again... didn't realise how much I was depending on the internet for interaction until I started to unplug more.

True.

I've finished projects that were put in the corner and the dog is getting more walks.

And for everything influencers and the media say about Tattle, I've found this by far one of the better places on the internet to actually talk to people.

Most people here are good eggs and willing to listen to the other side in a conversation, and you can even say you disagree.

Sometimes a mod has to step in but in my experience this is rare.

Not many platforms you can say that about now.

When I first went on the pill I did have to have a check up every 3 months. But I was on it because of menstural migraine

Trend chasing from unbearably beige women painting their homes in garish colours and cosplaying maximalism. They’ve simultaneously ditched the neutral tones for hideous colour clashing and don’t realise they’re still vanilla af because they’re painting the gaff head to toe maroon like every other fucker. And yes I would live and let live but if I hear “you better paint your ceiling” one more time 🖕🏻 victorian ceilings were painted light to reflect not absorb light you absolute melts with navy blue ceilings. These are the type of personalities who slapped artex everywhere.

Every inarticulate wassock will get named and shamed, including those here on Tattle. I don’t count, obviously.
You can literally see when this word started to take a hold of people. They appear to LOVE using it to punctuate their ‘sassy’ sentence. duck offff!!
