A neighbour who Id loosely call a mate, went for the first time with her husband a few years ago and has made Disney her whole personality. Constantly posting countdowns to the next time she's going, loungefly(?) bags, Disney suitcases, red and white polka dot nails even when she does her obligatory story from the gym it's captioned "getting skinny to meet minnie"

Beards. Sorry but only like 1% of men can pull them off, and even then, they have to be groomed a certain way.

Bachelorette/bachelor parties, wedding showers, baby showers, etc.

Sorry but you get one day...not several months of attention and several gifts. I also think registries are downright rude and greedy. It's also pretty ironic how dual-income households expect their single friends to fund their lifestyle, and it never gets reciprocated!
Not forgetting the engagement parties/the gender reveal parties.

I'm betting that soon there'll also be: I've finally met 'my person' party!

Chicken thighs
God, yes! My husband likes them as “they have more flavour”. Complete bastards to butcher though, I cut 90% of the crap off them so hardly anything’s left. Give me a nice lean uncomplicated chicken breast any day.

Sport.

I just don't really "get" it and there is probably some residue overload from all the sport I had to have on in the background when spending time at my grandparents as a child. My grandad would watch any sport, hours and hours of it. The worst for me was/is any sort of car/motorbike racing. The noise makes me want to cover my ears even now.

The only sport I have any time for at all are things like ice skating, synchronised and a few other gymnastic based ones where it is at least visually impressive/pretty to watch. Horse stuff is okay too because you get the lovely animals but otherwise, I wouldn't be able to have a conversation about sport.

With the World Cup hype really gearing up, I am feeling like a buzzkill :ROFLMAO:
I agree. It's just so "meh" to me.

I think it's so weird how people get genuinely angry if their team loses and they rage out. Even to the point where domestic violence rates go up around game times. Plus the "good team" vs. "bad team" mentality is problematic because these are the same type of people who can't think critically when it comes to other matters.

And the money...it's outrageous how much some players make. I also really have a problem with the misogyny when it comes to not paying the cheerleaders, making the cheerleaders wear skimpy outfits, only having male reporters cover the game, targeted commercials where women are sexualized, etc.

Recycling. Not hate per se but I see this obsessive recycling rules odd. It does nothing to solve the existing problem of too much production and overconsumption, apart from easing conscience maybe. The focus is never on creating less waste, but they also never stop coming up with more tedious ways to recycle, half of which is a hoax. A good amount of "recycling" is just gathered and shipped to poor countries to fester for years and years. Same goes for all those donated old clothes and fabric recycling bins.
Exactly this. We should/could be mending or make do with things. But they purposely make stuff now not built to last,so we continue to spend. Clothing and furniture now especially is disgusting quality, the Vintage market will not exist in a 20 years time as the clothes and eoidcuip furniture will have long gone

I am usually the family cake baker, but for my uncle’s 60th my cousin splashed out on a very expensive professional cake - no skin off my nose, decoration is not my forté 🤣 it looked very impressive but honestly tasted bloody awful.
Give me a decent Victoria sponge any day!

Afternoon Tea

£45pp for 2 slices of bread cut into 6, sickly sweet dollops of cream, dry ass scones and tea that's gone cold after 5 minutes.

Those videos where they're like "I quit my $200k tech job to make $30k at a coffee shop." I never understood why people find those inspiring or brave. I find them insulting and tone deaf. Like I really don't want to hear about how you were bored while making 6 figures in this economy while other people are busting their a$s and struggling to get by. It's also basically cosplaying because there's a huge difference between voluntarily working minimum wage service jobs (with cushy savings) and being forced to work minimum wage jobs.

Totally agree, when did greasy looking hair become.something to aspire to?
My heart breaks every time I see someone with clean hair cover it in grease and scrape it back. I mean I could pass as trunchball at the best of time pre hair wash, I don’t need to look like a boiled egg on purpose 🤣

SATC. Another TV show that didn’t age well. Carrie Bradshaw is a horrible person. It also never made sense how she was supposed to be a broke writer but she owned designer clothes and had a nice apartment.

GLP-1s. It's really concerning how they're handing them out to seemingly everyone. There isn't a lot of long-term data. What happens when you go off of it? What happens after you inevitably lose muscle mass? What happens to your kidneys and liver long-term? Weight loss wasn't even the original intended use of the drug, which is also why it's concerning. It's also not solving the root of the issue: food quality issues, food supply chain issues, modern sedentary lifestyles, cost of living, etc. It's just a bandaid.
