I tried to accept some of that post yesterday, because when I lost a loved one to cancer I remember feeling so angry and I didn’t understand why I should care about anything else when this horrific thing had happened and everything had changed. But that’s just it, the world doesn’t stop. I still donated the money we raised in his honour because it wasn’t ours to keep. I’m glad I spoke out and got help because I was completely stuck at that stage in grief and couldn’t move past it, couldn’t see anyone else’s pain due to my own. But because we had to fight for biopsies to be done numerous times, because hospital appointments kept being cancelled, because it wasn’t picked up quick enough, I wouldn’t ever justify how I feel by it. If anything, I wouldn’t want people to have an outcome like the one we got and if they got answers faster? Amazing. If they got more time in the end? I’m ok with that. If they beat it completely? I’d be over the moon for a stranger I’ve never met. She admits the bed was a loan, so it wasn’t ever hers to keep forever. You don’t get to justify actions because you had a hard fight, there wasn’t ever going to be a time she was okay with seeing things change from his room, at no point is it not going to hurt, but by her doing that she’s kept that bed from a child who needs it, a parent who’s fighting for it and she KNOWS how that feels whilst that bed was in a house, that 9 times out of 10 she wasn’t in herself. I kept T-shirts, aftershave so I could remember his smell, I visit the places that remind me of him, I speak about him daily. It just isn’t fair to make other people suffer because you did.
