I guess the cream cheese shortage in New York is serious because of two very important things there:

Everyday - Bread. I genuinely eat a bread product at every meal and I am not even ashamed. No matter what we have for tea, I have a round of bread and butter with it. No wonder I'm an absolute whale is there!!!
