I was pleasantly surprised to read about her former REAL successes. Although she appears to be a bit of an airhead, she knows how to actually and responsibly build legit success. Enough to get her into big magazines etc.
She was a genuine Tastemaker long before Steffie even thought about turning a French manor farm into a boho paradise.
Who knows what brought her to van life? Maybe illness, maybe a partner who smashed her and her business/es?
But, it's going to be interesting how it plays out between her and Steffie.
You know, I don't think she's shy as much as quietly weighing up the nonsense that she sees before her and, as a newcomer, treading carefully. HELP ME!!!!! In my head I read the word insular in SJ pronunciation of insyooolation!!! Am I too far gone???I think things are changing and my mums generation were much more insular .especially as they experienced a lot of discrimination in the 1950s in the UK. The situation in Ireland at the time, didn't help. I married outside the community, and although I belong to my local Irish social club, for old times sake, I wouldn't dream of living in a bubble. If I lived abroad, I would throw myself into local life. I have British friends living abroad in France and Spain who are part of the community.
