Not a big fan of the Newby Garden. The rose garden was truly disappointing. I've seen much better. I like sunken gardens because they have a very special atmosphere, but I sorely missed that here. The plant selection, in particular, was somewhat limited and repetitive. It's tedious to stick to a single color scheme across such a large area. That's what creating different spaces is for, to offer variety and different impressions. However, the variety of trees was the highlight of this garden tour for me.
I could have done without the chatter from Tweedledum and Tweedledee. And I'm sure they bought out the entire gift shop. In their usual fashion they also snagged a freebie (of course, they neglected to label it as advertising, as always).
