You and Phillip need to stop shopping. The chateau is so cluttered

a Chateau with so many rooms. Why always using the already cluttered hallways? I am so baffled and confused why they keep using hallways? Are there no empty rooms that can be used intheinterim to store the books?

I hope Amaury told that gentlemen that he is sitting on a small fortune with all those planes. I think I heard him say they are worth more than the property is which is a understatement. They can sell for thousands of dollars apiece depending on what there purpose and condition are. What a bonus to buying the house...Just crazy cool.

I worry about your herbs and spices. Will the heat go through to the drawer?

TheBTG88

As Ben indicated, the drawer is insulated to keep the heat in.

elkerwin

@TheBTG88 Yeah, because the heat will go into the cast iron. But that will still happen and herbs and spices are VERY sensitive.

Stephanie, I can't believe that in this huge castle there isn't even one room that could be used as a library instead of cluttering up the hallways

I’m very worried of the weight on the floor under all the books. An old three-story Victorian house here in the United States that we had my grandfather had books much like you have when we took over the house the entire upstairs had to be redone because the weight of the books had destroyed the floor.

There may also be safety regulations about blocking hallways, we have to keep our work passages clear for visitors. Plus having to move furniture down the hall will be a trial.

@LtDualla I don’t think visitors go in that part of the Chateau.

Love your hallway library, maybe you can do others throughout the chateau so people can have a little nock to read in. I am a very new person, 3 months, who just loves your blog. Been watching 5-6 hours a day to catch up. can't wait for the next blog and still looking at 5-6 year blogs.

Nothing like the feel of a book in your hands. The anticipation of opening a book and discovering a new window on the world

Steff if you are going to push by yourself, put an old towel or other under front then that way you can push easily from the back. Don't hurt yourself sweetie

But she would have to lift the front to position the towel, clearly very difficult.

Stephanie! Stephanie! With all the space you guys have your are cramming into a narrow corridor. I worry!

TheBTG88

@mariagillinson8527 Normal sized people can walk through the corridor, so no reason to be frightened about access.

Malignant codependency, often seen in "inverted narcissists," is a dysfunctional relationship pattern where a person, driven by extreme fear of abandonment, uses manipulative, clingy, and needy behaviours to control their partner. Unlike typical people-pleasing codependency, this form employs emotional blackmail to maintain a, often toxic, connection.
So you reckon they both have Malignant Codependency?

if you have one or 2 or max 10 collections, these kind of presentations make sense, but not 2045962 pieces. he had to put as much as he can in one pantry.
can only imagine the hoard if his best pieces receive this attention

Do you remember that god awful fabric 'spice rack' she made (wow, she actually made something) - it was like one of those fabric shoe holders you hang on your wardrobe door. Elkerwin, I think the herbs and spices are safer in a drawer. Hell, what am I thinking, they are probably from 2005, stale and won't ever get used, so really, it doesn't matter where they get put.

Yes, I read that she had been subjected to terrible remarks- for years- who makes them read??? It is a heartbreaking loss- I can’t imagine for her family. Hard to believe anyone with so much going for them could feel that hopeless- but I don’t see how reading online comments has so much power over them. I don’t mean to be insensitive, I just don’t understand it! I don’t know anything about that “influencer” or her lifestyle. Prayers for her family and friends to get through the grief of lose of such a young one!
*I am aware of bullying online (or in person) and the detrimental effects it can have on the young impressionable ones. Our family experienced a teen suicide in recent years and I think it could have come from bullying- maybe online or blackmail- as he was not a “troubled youth” with a close knit family and friends. He was a gamer and could’ve fallen for some type of blackmail- caught up in something that he would never want his family or friends to know about. So many questions.

*If they aren’t “tattlers” then they are spies!
Unfortunately many teens are taking their lives :( And social influence on the internet has a 'niche' of very evil to target and cause such horrid.

Please no. Doing that will mess up my dinner reservations for our anniversary on April 2. 😂

True story: we couldn’t figure out a date for the wedding. I was getting toward the very end of my patience. So, I suggested “the first Friday in April as I feel it is wholly appropriate”. It was April Fools. He was not amused. We chose the next day, Saturday, April 2. It was Easter weekend that year. I love it when our anniversary falls on Easter. 💕
Love it!!! 🥰 Happy Anniversary!!! Love that you were ready to jump in! Just not on April Fools! No one would take you seriously then! 😍🎂❤
April 2 is our oldest daughter’s birthday! Big 37! Guess I can’t be 39 any longer- well I haven’t been in a little while! 🫢 My husband will say it’s the 27th anniversary of my 39th Bday (April 9)! Yes we usually have one of our bdays on or near Easter too!!!

Does the ignorant armchair architect know there is a spirit level app? He did not even ensure it was level …
The library…nasty repro that fan was crying over had filthy glass, although you can see one of their suitcases in the reflection…. She said books remind her of her farvuurr. ,

Wow your office is immaculate . Impressive. View attachment 3942729View attachment 3942730

I'm not a medical professional, but it doesn't take one to tell they are both wired differently. Their weird, phony relationship is based on their deep individual insecurities and addictions. I believe they shop, travel & hoard to try and fill the pain of their individual emptiness and failures.

ok had to go watch the latest fan fiasco... bragging about 176 'cookery' books. Well my dear hope the weight of the dust and mite infested hoard causes more structural damage.

Seems to be two camps:
1. Filth is the manipulator and fan is being isolated, made to dress the way he determines and spend money on what he wants, whilst he slowly takes over the chateau.
2. fan is the manipulator and uses Filth as a front for buying the things she actually wants and deals with people because she doesn't want to and she'll ditch him whenever she has had enough of him or he is no longer useful.

Not sure what I think. Some kind of mutual toxic co-dependency and a bit of both is true?
I'm in camp 2

Didn’t Skiddy just buy a “library” meant for the winter salon, what the heck are they doing in the hallway? Also, why does Filth want to jam his precious porcelain collections into a whatever it is, that doesn’t have very much glass to show it off to all of his admirers? Why does he have everything arranged so crappily inside?💩

Oh fan, I am so embarrassed for you. First of all why didn't he man Snorts move that bookcase into his bedroom (study). And 20 bottles.of booze on top of it to boot. And needed to remind everyone of the thousands on books ,also in the attic that needed to come down. What did Grant box up and put in the containers, remember the books moved out to the stables when Marie had a studio out there???? And then to have a chair and bottle.of whiskey into the already cramped corridor. They are just plain nuts... And why did Marie have to babysit Galahad??? Can he not be left at home??? Looks like lots of people at the open house, good for them. Question Ben.... Do you think those warming drawers will ever be used??? Why the heat lamps??? And that terrace. Seriously fan stop the travel and attend to your falling down farmhouse.
Couldn't believe they'd not moved the other cupboard first.

When she was dusting the bookshelves that was just a bit of light entertainment to her.

Crazies moved in nearby, got their kitchen completed in normal time.

The Chateau Diaries gets more boring by the day.
