What I find so infuriating is that she could easily do things properly - declare people - do her accounts - declare her costs and earnings for all of the airb&b business and pay nearly no tax after costs etc. This would provide social security for everyone involved.

The taxes here are high, but we have universal healthcare, good unemployment benefits, decent retirement plans ( and I know there are strikes etc about the recent reforms - but we're still much better off than most of the developed world.). We have good roads and infrastructure, tax credits for renovations, grants from l'ANAH, personal tax allowances, university here is still practically free, municipal music schools are subsidized, culture and artists are subsidized ( statut d'intermittent), maternity, paternity and parental leave allowances are high. The government (though an agency - VISALE) acts as guarantor for people in the private renting market. There is help to create businesses. There are automatic grants for lifelong learning ( 400 euros per year per employee in the private sector in what is known as CPF), childcare is subsidized etc etc I could go on and on...

This is historically French - it's part of the French DNA - a lot of it a legacy from the front populaire in 1936.

She claims to love France - by avoiding paying her taxes she's guilty of destroying the social system we have here... She just uses and exploits and gives nothing back ....

I don't know how long ago Selmar left Lalande - but to prove workplace harassment as I said earlier he's first have to get his time there officially requalified as employment by URSAFF - however there is a two year deadline to start proceedings for this - so I think he's out of time.
My opinion ( I'm legally qualified in France although not in droit du travail or droit penal) is that any "harassment" or "bullying" Selmar suffered from would not be sufficiently "qualified" to be able to make a case. I think ( again my opinion only) that the whole thing would be seen by the courts as friends falling out and nothing more. Him having "outed" peoples sexual preferences and activities on YouTube would also play in his disfavor.

What happened to Selmar was morally wrong yes - but moral and law are two different things.

Merely interested to see if Marie had posted a reaction to Selmar throwing her name into his "story". Silly me likes to see more than one opinion.
I just find it odd that Selmar was so appalled by all the sex yet he kept his mouth shut until he was given the bums rush. He claims they destroyed his life, yet he goes back to visit? So if Stephanie had given him a nice pat on the head he would've remained quiet? I think there's missing parts to the story but that's so la lande isn't it?

Yes, basically, that is what I gathered from Selmar's video. That despite it all he still wanted to mend things, notice how he never speaks ill of Fanny, meaning that in his eyes she wasn't the root cause of the problem, but the people around her were. So all he wanted was a warmer welcome and a pat on the head for good ol' times sake. Last time he posted a tell-all, a chat with Isobel was all it took for him to take it down and never bring it up again.
I did say previously that it is very telling how all they needed to do to treat Selmar right in his eyes was the bare minimum, yet they couldn't even muster that.

What actions do you think can be taken to get an investigation into this behavior in France with regards to reporting this to the Labour authorities. Do you think they would overlook something found in this investigation report by a company? It seems to play into creating a "toxic work environment" just off the top of my head. Similar to the case of the guy in France who was being pressured by his co-workers to drink and be more "fun" aka have rando sex like they were and when he didn't want to participate in drinking etc. they made his life difficult then fired him for "not being fun". He won his case based also on a "toxic work environment".

The real shame for all these “shagaways” is that they spend their own money to travel to the P*ssy Palace to get the privilege of sleeping with the Floor Scrubber and she’s not even good in bed.

And let's just stop to absorb the fact that she allowed Nutty to cause all these problems because in her lower middle-class mind, she is now in an upper caste and cannot POSSIBLY be bothered to answer her own emails, book rooms for the B&b, arrange cleaners etc. She's SO FAR ABOVE it. And if she has to put up with peasant Natti's temper tantrums.... Selmar is sinply collateral damage.

According to Selmar, the issues with Nutty started when she became the B&B manager and she began bossing people around, which he did not respond well to. The whole turning down her advances episode happened prior to this promotion and it seems it was water under the bridge. And I can see how the promotion would be the catalyst of this behaviour, because going by what everyone says about Nutty, she can't be professional and courteous to save her life, so her idea of management is to bark orders at volunteers, employees and guests.

Having an investigation made by workaway would just mean they are protecting their product, Fanny is no longer on their website as they see how much she has abused the generosity of people and their safety.

This would be a completely different scenario had it been the French authorities. The employee or employer can ask for an inspection de travaille via dreets ( Direction régionale de l'économie, de l'emploi, du travail et des solidarités. This could mean opening a very large can of worms for Fanny. This organization could deal with bullying (harcèlement) within a work place.

"During my short stay I witnessed 4 very unhappy volunteers, they had no heating in their rooms only hot water bottles, they were constantly on edge about receiving group messages from Nutty complaining about their work, regardless of their skills all Nutty told them to do was house work they said this was not what they signed up for and would have left sooner only they couldn't afford new flights. They all spoke about how nasty nutty was to them & said other volunteers had left before their time I can understand why."

There were four lesser known volunteers at that point (not including Russian Maria, who is "in" with the Lelande crowd.). Emilio and three girls - don't know their names. One of them had a dark bob. ( like Mireille Mathieu if anyone remembers her!)
I don't remember which female volunteer revealed that they were inadequently fed, left without transport, etc but which was well documented here at the time. Mary, the Chinese volunteer has also said that she wouldn't return to Lalande as so much had changed.

Tons of great reviews should mean it’s safe, right? WRONG! I was told I could paint and decorate before I arrived. On the way “yea, just tell us what you want to do”. But, no. I had to do the laundry for 17 turning BnB bedrooms and cleaning each room/en suite bathroom. Plus, all the breakfast/lunch dishes for 15-30 ppl. They kept promising me “oh after tomorrow” etc. You’re supposed to work 4-5 hrs/day with 2 days off/wk. But, I was always pushed to do more by her lieutenant mother. “The bedding on the line is dry” at 7pm, after working since 10am. I didn’t get any days off either. Yet, three British guy helpers could paint the barn from 9-12 and then go frolicking during afternoons, even using the host’s car.

Despite the host’s daily trips to town, it took a week to get a card when my great uncle died. Looking back, idk how I even managed to stay the whole two weeks. Maybe it was the false promises of decorating/painting another day. Maybe it was the vivacious and entertaining host who threw costume dinner parties, karaoke nights, and once or twice took some of us on mini excursions to a winery and festival.

I wanted to leave soon after I arrived, but I felt a responsibility to my word. I was naive. They had a helper come to cook for everyone, but she was nasty. It didn’t matter, they needed her because they were short staffed. I wish I had left early. That was when I learned to look out for myself. I’m embarrassed by the amount of hours they made me work. I was exploited. It’s humiliating.

This host now has a massive following from being on a television show, and I’m sure, totally unaware of being exploitive because as she said “why complain if people are willing to come work for free”. They claim they don’t have the funds to run the chateau, but she also can travel to 5 star hotels, own plethoras of designer clothes and shoes, all while still owning a flat in London! #priorites

Let's say Selmar finds an attorney who is willing to sue Stephanie for back wages
Is there a possibilty Stephanie could offer a settlement amount to make it go away? If Selmar accepted could he refuse to sign an NDA?

Re-reading that letter from Kelsey makes me angry all over again. And then to realize that was written nearly 7 years ago…and nothing has changed. The manipulation, deceit, getting something for nothing, taking advantage of people’s kindness. Makes me sick.
