Can't speak for anyone else here, but you summedIt's bugged me for a while that I couldn't put my finger on why i disliked Dan (and I thought I was alone in thinking this!) I think it's, ever since they were doing the kitchen up I found his approach to be very bossy and very 'my way is the best way'. Any decision making always seemed to go his way and annalise's opinions always got overruled. That might just be how it appeared in the videos but I can't stand that kind of attitude.
Additionally, I find his sarcastic eye rolling and comments to be utterly fake. He stands around mocking other peoples passions thinking he is above all of this 'chateau-y' 'arty' nonsense, while simulatiosly he fannies around with his poncy drone shots and ray bans. He's a hypocrite, he's just as airy fairy as the rest of them, while he sneers at them like he's somehow more mature.
The only times I have liked him are during his chats with amoury in the van. He came across more sincere. Amoury comes across as someone who is comfortable in his own skin and doesn't need to mock others to make himself look cool or macho or 'above all this'.
And then there's his man cave, if ever there was a vanity project...
It was annalise that made me start watching their vlog in the early days when she filmed it and voiced it. As soon as dan took over with his boring drone shots, and wannabe cinematographer talk, I started to lose interest. I've unsubscribed now with zero guilt. And wish annalise all the best cos shes a queen.

Yes, unless you didn't have a direct experience of how devastating the constant contact with a narc may be, then very slowly and painfully realize it and start your path to a new conscience and healing, which can last many years, it is very difficult to underestand that these people are just empty agglomerates of dissociate parts of a disrupted self. Then the best thing you can do is going no contact. But it is of course also possible for very clever and sensitive people to see beyond the shiny appearance, the darkness, the void they need to fill contantly by feeding on others' energy and admiration in order to avoid imploding. Yet not all of them fall or are exposed. Many just go on like that all their lives. It's a very tiring life, as they need to wear and change masks all the time and adjust constantly to the different situations in order to hide their lies as much as they can. Usually they chose the group of people they are sure will enable them or will buy into their scams, like SJ does, only she has made a big mistake: show herself to the world, where she can't always cheat everyone. So Tattle is doing a great job! Let's hope the dummy grannies, or at least some, will open their eyes.@The Simple Life. 100% agree with you.
