We’ve had a thread long discussion over on Secret Celeb Goss about The Bill and there’s seems to be many, many fans!!

So for nostalgia sake and not to derail any further I’ve set up a thread here for anyone who wants to chat all things Jasmine Allen and the Brontë Estate! 👮🏻‍♂️🚨🚔

You couldn’t top the Eddie Santini and Rosie Fox storyline/era. It was riveting stuff and perfectly blended the Police procedural elements and soapy side of things before it went OTT under Paul Marquess (although I did love the Cathy Bradford storyline during his tenure and some other elements).

I go way back. One of my favourites was Tosh Lines. Was gutted when he was sacked in real life. I’m sure Smithy had a reboot, when he first joined it was hinted that he was a racist and then he shot Bob Cryer, went on a break and came back with a new personality.
i also loved the Eddie Santini story arc. We (being a bit sad) recorded all the episodes and binged them. It was like watching an epic movie. For some reason I didn’t watch the last series so may be time to revisit.

I started watching the ones on U&W this morning and it’s around the time they put Phil Hunter back in uniform but it’s a uniform fit for a schoolboy 😁

I used to watch The Bill as a kid with my older siblings – absolutely loved it! I was completely obsessed with DC Zain Nadir. I even wrote a letter to the actor who played him and was over the moon when I got a signed autograph back.

We watch the bill on those U&Drama channels every weekend 😅 I don’t like the change to the more gritty storylines in the later series, with that near constant tense music in the background 😒
It's harder to watch, imo, with the music and flashing scenes. I much preferred 'Previously on The Bill' and being eased gently into the next episode, rather than wondering what the heck is going on.

It got me through some tough times watching it. I'd never get tired of it. Sad for all the characters who are gone, and in such rapid succession too, towards the end. I'll have to start on another 'new' series of it when this one finishes. 😁

Even though I saw it many times, Honey's death made me feel sad all over again. I always liked her character.

And there's a brilliant scene between Zain and Jack when Zain is finally found out and arrested. Jack asks to speak to him before he is taken away and it's just a superb piece of acting from both of them, with Zain trying to put on a front, through his tears, at the end, as Jack leaves the room.

One of my favourite characters was Smithy / Alex Walkinshaw. He is in Eastenders these days although I only watch that sporadically.

I watch it quite often on U. The box set. I have a thing for rewatching thing's,I rarely watch anything new. I always start around the time Gilmore comes in. It's got so much going on. Kerry and Luke, Gina Gold,Gabriel,Carver and his mad wife,so much to list. I stop when it goes all weird and new.

I absolutely love The Bill. I had so many crushes but can't recall all their names. Rod Skase was number one and Jack Meadows. I loved the acting of Cyril Nri as Chief Superintendent Adam Okaro. The serious guy who was in Corrie, I don't know his name. It was a superb piece of quality TV.
Andrew Lancel. I swear he plays cold and emotionless in anything I’ve seen him in

I’ve just watched Dave & Jenny’s wedding on U&Drama. I’d forgotten some of the characters but remember when it first aired I preferred the uniform stories to the CID. Loving the 90’s fashion though!

Eddie Santini and Rosie Fox are married IRL!

Yes that's so annoying. I think they tried to Americanise it,like CSI and it just didn't work at all.
