It's been a while since we're had a clear out!No problem, rice weevils aren't toxic or dangerous. I'd be more concerned about why you have 12 year old packets of rice in your cupboard.
If it's use by then I personally wouldn't, if it's best before then it's fine so long as you give it a good check an it looks okI have a rather silly question. Before we looked at the use by date on a packet of brown rice, my partner boiled it, and we were going to eat it. Then I happened to notice the use by date - 2014! I asked my partner to disgard the rice, and we used somerhing else.
Would the rice have been ok to eat?

I'll have to try that.I read a tip about putting food like a packet of rice in the freezer for 2 days and then it will keep in a cupboard for decades as the freezer will have killed off any insect eggs.
I wouldn’t be bothered about the painting and I doubt your kids care.Just wondered what people would do about this....
A family memeber painted a nice picture for our first kid when they were born.
They are the sort of person that has an issue with everything. After a couple of issues the last few times we've met up at family gathering we don't talk anymore, a relief really after alot of unnecessary drama. One of the things they said was how my children's behaviour spoils their day. Both are neurodiverse, we have some challenges but nothing that I would say is massively out of the ordinary for any kids really.
I know they started a painting for my other kid but we've never been given it and I doubt we will now.
I don't know if I want to keep the first painting. It feels unfair on the second one and generally unfair on both of them to have it from someone who's been quite vocal about disliking us all. My husband says keep it because it's a nice painting but I don't know if my hearts in it.
What would you do in the same position?
Perhaps just pop it in the attic?. Might be nice for them to show their children one day.Just wondered what people would do about this....

If you have a factor then report it to them, otherwise if not then you can go to your local council an say they are causing obstructions which restrict emergency vehicle accessI live on a private road which has a car park for the apartments. It is narrow only enough room for a single vehicle. There are signs stating no parking. People constantly park on the pavement, across the dropped kerbs, an across the entrance to the carpark, they often try to park in the carpark.
If you speak to them you get a mouthful of abuse. There are people with mobility issues who cannot go in or out on their mobility vehicles because they are parked across the dropped kerbs, and we regularly have ambulances attend the premises. They cannot get down the road because of the parked cars. If you are out you can’t get in and if you are in you can't get out.

Keep it in storage and let your child decide whether they want it or not when they are adult. Your relative might decide to give you the painting for the younger one in time.Just wondered what people would do about this....

Because it is a private road, the council are not interested. Not sure how well either would help, but pretty sure if you state that emergency vehicle access is being restricted they might issue fines

A road is either owned by your factor or the council, a private road is only private under a landowner(who has to pay an maintain it), when houses are built the company building owns the land until it's finished then they wipe their hands clean of the ownership when it's all built an it's either the factor or council that has to take itBecause it is a private road, the council are not interested. The council just cannot be arsed dealing with anything anymore, it's how factors got introduced, it was a way for the council to basically pass all responsibilities onto them so they could ignore it, but if you aren't paying factor fees then it will def be the councils responsibility
Maybe a sharp key along the side of them will make them think twice about parking on pavements "woops must have been the pram"

I don't know where you are but in Scotland we have scotlis that works as a register, you can gain most information for free on it, not sure what the English or Welsh equivalent would be, but just call HA an they can direct you
