Has anyone successfully got rid of fungus gnats from a plant and has any recommendations for what works best? Already planning to repot my plant as it needs it anyway but looking for something in addition to that (and to my cats who keep digging for them ffs)
This works well for mine, although nothing is permanent. Worth remembering for sanity that they are annoying rather than harmful. But they are bloody annoying.

I wonder if anyone has any ideas what my skin irritation could be? I have a itchy sensation within my skin , it's on an area of my left arm and on my left thigh. It is red , probably due to me scratching, and small red spots tend to appear within the itchy area. This is about the third time Ive had this over the last 15 years or so . It only ever happens when it has been hot and then it just disappears like magic after a while. The first time it happened, I got some cream from the gp but they didn't really explain what it was .

It doesn’t sound like shingles I’d it’s in two separate places. Could it be an allergy?
I'm not sure because the feeling is within in the skin , rather than on the surface, hence the comparison with shingles. Those areas don't come into contact with anything for an allergy to only happen in that area .
If you can try to take a picture of it and use the Google Lens function to find similar pictures and see what other symptoms are described. I've had more success with that in the past couple of years than going to a doctor who maybe will prescribe hydrocortisone but fail to give me a diagnosis.
I tend to get very itchy skin when it gets hotter and sunnier outside, but not with the red spots you describe (or at least not so many that I would count them as a key symptom) - for me I know it is a mildish form of sun allergy, which goes away after a while (allergy medication helps a lot with the itching). I don't know if I'm simply lucky and don't get the red spots you describe though, I bet there's a lot of variation as with anything skin-related.
I had some kind of rash years ago which I think the pharmacist said was to do with the sun and gave me a tube of aqueous cream to clear it up.

It's funny how it is just in certain parts of my body, especially my thigh /hip area which never sees the light of day .
I'll try some aqueous cream . It's odd i never get direct sunlight on some parts of my body , so I think it's more heat rather than sun .
It can’t be shingles in two places, unlikely to be an insect thing if it flares up in the same place and unlikely to be contact dermatitis if it’s just in two areas so it looks to be heat related. Possibly try an over the counter non drowsy anti histamine.
Could it be Psoriasis? I have it an when I get flare ups it sounds similar to this, the little red spots could be due to the scratchy
Not sure it's shingles, last time I had shingles the itching was insane an the spots appeared on their own not due to me scratching plus they are a bit larger then those red spots (if the red spots am thinking you have is correct)

just got off my holiday there. my shins didn’t tan AT ALL. i tried everything! suncream, water, tanning oil, tanning butter. i was short of rubbing myself in baby oil. everywhere else got a gorgeous color, including my feet and thighs. just not my bleeping shins. anyone have any tips or tricks for my next holiday or even a reason why this happened?
