Glad to hear the aygo has cameras on it because those are a huge plus for me, I know most modern cars have them now but my parents one doesn't even though it's a young car, so wasn't sure if the aygo did or didn't, also good to hear there's very little problems with them

The place today was trying to talk me into one of those rent schemes which I don't want, whatever I go for I want to own it an want it for years so need it to last
I have an Aygo.

Pros:
Rear cameras!
It's very compact so parking is very easy to find, perfect city car. I easily fit into the tight spaces of our (built in the 70's, so small dimensions) car park where the newer SUVs and even regular cars struggle.
Very little repair work, ever - never had to do anything to pass the MOT.
Very reliable, drove 1000 miles on it over a weekend, no complaints.
Mileage/gallon is good.

Neutrals:
Back seats are easy to lay down and take back up again, booth is not that roomy but not too bad for a small car. I have transported IKEA furniture, bicycles and even a queen size bed with it (taken apart).
I have the cabriolet roof edition, which is a nice gimmick but I never really use it. Useful for transporting beds, you can stick the longer pieces out of the roof.
Sleeping in it can be done if you're small enough 😅

Cons:
Quite underpowered for what it says on the tin. My old Fiat panda had less horsepower but felt much more dynamic. I need to use a lowish gear to get up to speed to merge on the motorway (which uses a lot of petrol at that point) and when I use the AC, it is noticabely draining power from the engine.
Only 4 seats.

Thanks for this, so far pros and neutral sounds quite good, it's probably only going be me so 4 seats is fine, however how do you feel it is with hills? If it's underpowered, I have quite a steep hill round a corner I need to take for work, it's not huge but it's still a little steep an almost a blind corner going round, how would the aygo handle that, my folks have a cross land an have to go into 2nd gear to handle it an even then it feels a slight struggle to get it up an round

I live in the Alps and so far it's been able to handle everything (snowy streets, steep inclines, tight corners, etc) and it is pretty good in first and second gear. It's the motorways which it struggles with when I need to get to a high speed on an incline. In lower gears the power output is excellent, so that should work for you.

Thanks, will mostly be town driving, can't see me using motorways much, personally would love to stay off them lol, but good to know it handles well

I hope this is the right thread for this as I couldn’t see a particular one more suited.

Is anyone clued up on how court listings work?

Basically my FIL got arrested last year and his court date is tomorrow.
All we know is that there was potentially a child involved (his bail conditions was that he wasn’t allowed alone with under 16’s and had to moved out of the family home), he had his devices seized too and the arrest came after a trip to the leisure centre.
He will not tell anyone what he’s been charged with or arrested for, the only thing he’s said is he’s been accused of something he didn’t do.
Obviously this is extremely concerning given the secrecy & I have just had a child myself into that family.

Now my question is, I cannot see his name listed on the Court websites for tomorrow. I have 100% got the date and location correct but he’s not on there. Is there any way I can find out what he’s being sent to court for, can I ring them and enquire? If so do I have to give them any information?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Could there be a delay on the information on the websites, am not sure how up to date they will keep them, I think you can phone but they might be rather confidential about what his case about until it's been done, I'd think it would need to go through court first before any information is released

Thanks for your reply. It’s been published now, I think I just needed to wait until after 5pm to see it.

There’s no way this is anything other than a sexually motivated crime involving children I’m afraid. I strongly suggest you only take note of the facts of the case (when you can find them) and not what he ends up telling you.

On a side note would the police not give you any information?

The court listing and charges have been published now so there’s no room for him to lie to us (not that he’d tell his family anyway). It’s all been very secretive & the only information we’ve had has been practically prised from my MIL.

I’m having really bad neck back and top shoulder pain from sitting at the desk all day. Not sure what to do because that’s part of my job to sit at a desk. Our office chairs are all old too and they don’t move up or down with no back support. I’m not sure what to do to relieve the pain it’s not good as I’m constantly wriggling around in my seat stretching and clicking my back because it hurts so much. Does everyone sitting at a desk all day experience pain

Can you do a work station assessment? Order new chairs etc? Or speak to occupational health?

Stretching (i do yoga) helps me, especially if I focus on neck & upper back.

Shakti mat is great too

A couple of times a day I will also roll my shoulders and my neck whilst I'm at my desk.

Hot baths will help with muscle aches too

If you can afford it a chiropractor can work wonders, as can regular massages.

Second all this, but aren’t chiropractors known to be a bit nonsense and potentially dangerous?

Not to my knowledge, I don't profess to be an expert but they have to be registered with regulated professional bodies such as the HCPC or GCC for example (I work in PMI so see a lot of chiropractor claims)

Do you have a foot rest? I find that really helps. I think the onus really is on your employer to provide adequate equipment 😕. Wheat bags are great for shoulder pain and just try to have a regular stroll, even if it's just to the break room etc.

No no footrest. Yes they have training vids about health and safety but apparently the chairs haven’t been changed for years. I don’t really want to be the one to ask incase it seems as though I’m causing issues

I understand what you're saying but your health is so important. I once had a desk under an air con vent and went home everyday with my shoulders up around my ears because I'd been sat shivering.

Do they have a suggestion box so you can ask anonymously?. Failing that maybe get one of those lumbar supports you can attach to your chair? (Although it's a poor state of affairs having to spend your own money). It's so rubbish of your employer, but please act x

I wouldn’t care about that, you must think about yourself and it doesn’t need to negative in how it’s fed back. Just keep it to facts that your chair is causing issues with your back and no supporting you, could something be looked into?Maybe raise via a email so you have evidence that you’ve raised. This sort of thing should really be checked on this yearly via 1-2-1s. If you don’t feel comfortable to raise with your line manager directly, do you have a staff support service? Something slightly different to occupational health. Maybe you could raise it with them for advice?

100%.

Your workplace has a duty of care towards you, including providing equipment fit for purpose.
