Seeing the bumble advert, I am tempted to join to find someone... maybe. The idea of finding a relationship is big after a pretty bad experience with my youngest dad. If I joined up would it be possible to just find someone in the county not the town. I dont want people at work talking about it for example.

I've never posted here so don't know if this is the right place but I'm looking to upgrade to the iPhone 16 pro or the 17. The only thing that's making me really struggle to decide is the back camera on the 16 pro. Any advice/suggestions would be so appreciated

Anyone know anywhere reputable (on high street or online) where I can get an old family VHS put onto a DVD/disk/memory stick? X

Does Max Speilman do it? There was an independent shop locally that did and Max Speilman and took them over but apparently provide the same services.

So my work are looking at changing my teams hours. As it'll be a new contract I've heard they can change our benefits mostly sick pay. I have very good sick pay right now so I'll be annoyed if this happens as I'd rather not change my hours and they'll force us and then I'd lose the good sick pay. Old staff have the good sick pay, new staff it's not so good but when they changed this we got a letter to say that if your on the old sick pay your entitlement won't change. Is it just me that thinks it's unfair that I'll lose it if they force us to change our contracts? I do understand in a way as I'll be working less hours but still that's their choice not mine. Also if they then change us again at some point I've lost that benefit even if our hours went up in the future

Have you got a union you’re a member of or can join? As far as I know any sort of contract change like that would have to go through consultation etc and the union rep would be all over something like that I’d imagine.

It will be via consultation but we have no union

When my work were making changes, I found it useful to talk it through with ACAS...
I found them really knowledgeable.

Land sickness! I was on a cruise recently (disembarked on Sat) and I have this awful feeling of still being at sea I am dizzy and feel like I can't walk in a straight line. Was due back at work today but logged on and couldn't focus on the screen, felt as if I was going to fall off my seat! I have had to take today off sick after being off for 2 weeks.

Does anyone have any experience of this or any tips to get rid of it?

I have no tips I am afraid but I had it recently.
Only went on a day boat trip - 12 hours ish.
That night in bed I felt like I was still it sea. It did subside and pardon the pun it did lessened and came in waves and eventually passed after a week or so xx

Thank you! Today has been the worst day so far, I wonder if it's because I've not moved much. This was my first cruise and we had horrific weather! I was fine on board but suffering for it now. It's really put me off doing one again x

My sister went on a cruise ages ago and had the same, someone gave her a tip of eating something carb-heavy and taking a walk. She said it did the trick for her even if she had to force down the breakfast at first, so it might be worth a try.

Am not long off a cruise myself an had this, I got the motion sickness patches an bands (I did have them on all cruise as well) an it seemed to help me, the patches can go behind the ear and on the stomach an you can have those on plus the bands

So long as it's not got anything like medication wise then I say just put everything on, laying an sleeping on my back for some reason helped me as well, an cleaning my ears out, you might need to check your ears as well as that can affect the balance an dizziness

Ginger helps too, biscuits, in a drink etc

I had this for the first time last year after a very calm few hours on a boat. I’d never heard of it before. It was so disconcerting. Thankfully my experience only lasted a few hours/ that evening. Hope yours wears off soon!

Thanks for all your replies. Not feeling any better I know it's only been a few days but I hate being unwell and this feeling is horrible, it's like I'm not in control of my movements and my brain feels really foggy. I think I will take tomorrow off work and just rest until I need to go back Monday.

I guess this is what I get for being so cocky on the ship. The weather was horrendous when we first set sail, most people were laid up in their cabins with sea sickness but I felt fine! Spent my day eating and drinking

I’ve not had what you have but whenever I’ve felt seasick on a cruise I have the tablets, kwells I think! Have you tried them? Not sure if they would work on land though

I'd never even heard of that before, but it prompted me to think of something else.
OP, do you also have a vertigo feeling? I've had positional vertigo before and it's a very odd and disconcerting feeling of suddenly not being able to tell up and down, I've nearly fell down from a chair and had to be really careful when walking as I just started to stumble. I know someone who had this really bad and they had to go to the hospital for it because they fell in the shower. It's something to do with your inner ear and calcium carbonate particles essentially clogging up the part of it that is responsible for your sense of balance.
