Possibly fibroids? They should be ruling that out .Looking for some advice, been on the mini pill for 3yrs, no problems up until earlier this year when I’ve started to get my period…..3 times a month, bleed for 5/6 days, finish for about the same time then start to bleed again, went to my GP did swabs/pregnancy test all negative, having awful pelvic, back, stomach & thigh pain too, pelvic pain always on the right side, told GP this, said was normal for my age mid 40’s although too young for menopause! No suggestion to change my pill or blood tests, I’m so tired all the time, moody etc….made yet another appointment but got to wait a month to see a nurse practitioner as no GP available, just feeling I’m not being listened to at all & my age is to blame!
Too young for menopause (even though that just means you’ve gone a full 12 months with no period) but right age for peri menopause. I turned 40 earlier in the year and I feel like know my body less and less. But as someone else said - the fact that they’re not checking for fibroids or anything else is so disregarding! I am so sorry they aren’t actioning more things - especially given it’s been happening for a prolonged period of time (not just a couple of months).Looking for some advice, been on the mini pill for 3yrs, no problems up until earlier this year when I’ve started to get my period…..3 times a month, bleed for 5/6 days, finish for about the same time then start to bleed again, went to my GP did swabs/pregnancy test all negative, having awful pelvic, back, stomach & thigh pain too, pelvic pain always on the right side, told GP this, said was normal for my age mid 40’s although too young for menopause! The NICE guidelines will tell you what they should be doing. From what I gather if it’s happening more than 3 months, they should be doing more but as you’re under 45 it’s nitLooking for some advice, been on the mini pill for 3yrs, no problems up until earlier this year when I’ve started to get my period…..3 times a month, bleed for 5/6 days, finish for about the same time then start to bleed again, went to my GP did swabs/pregnancy test all negative, having awful pelvic, back, stomach & thigh pain too, pelvic pain always on the right side, told GP this, said was normal for my age mid 40’s although too young for menopause! It’s been happening since March of this year, I do have gallstones & did ask if they may be contributing well my gallbladder as it’s enlarged but was told no by my GP, it’s the pain more than anything sometimes the stabbing/sharp pain in my pelvis takes my breath away long with the feeling my lower back feels bruised (it’s not) then my periods I only finished my last period on the 13th of this month & started it again today, just feels never ending, I’m 44 so feel like nobody is listening to me. I’ve had swabs for STI’s came back negative & then that’s where the conversation ended, nothing else no suggestions just it’s normal for my age to have this many periods & pain too. Peri menopause wasn’t even suggested just that I’m too young for menopause. The NICE guidelines will tell you what they should be doing. You could try your local sexual health clinic if you’ve lost faith in your GP.
If if you consider it heavy would be this course of treatment…
If not this second page may be it…

If it’s in the NICE pathway guidelines, they shouldn’t refuse. You can still always request a pill review if you don’t get anywhere.
Sorry it should have been page 12 of the last document. It looks like they should be offering a hysterscopy or ultrasound. I know referrals for anything are taking forever though. I know you can get private gynae ultrasounds and investigations around here for under £200.It’s been happening since March of this year, I do have gallstones & did ask if they may be contributing well my gallbladder as it’s enlarged but was told no by my GP, it’s the pain more than anything sometimes the stabbing/sharp pain in my pelvis takes my breath away long with the feeling my lower back feels bruised (it’s not) then my periods I only finished my last period on the 13th of this month & started it again today, just feels never ending, I’m 44 so feel like nobody is listening to me. My period isn’t as heavy as it would be if not on the pill (would leak through a super plus tampon in 90 mins on heaviest days) but it’s not breakthrough bleeding would expect when on the mini pill, I’ve always had period pains but they are just getting worse, I’m am actually considering coming off the pill to see if that will help, I’m hoping the appointment next month I might get somewhere, thank youSorry it should have been page 12 of the last document. Window to the womb, while commercial and a bit tit is cheap and does this, they have clinics all over the place.

Do you have any other red flags, IBS symptoms, weight loss, night sweats? Is the bleeding the same as period bleeding in the sense of womb lining shedding kind of stuff?
I’d be inclined to go back and strongly push for further investigation, private scan or not. Don’t just take no for an answer, if they’re not offering blood tests and pill review, ask for it. Mention peri-menopause, they can test if you’re still ovulating with a simple blood test.Could you consider stopping the pill for a while to see if it’s linked? Ask them if it’s worthwhile. Ask them to explain why they don’t think it merits further investigation.
GPs are just that, general. There are huge gaps in knowledge and if they’re lazy they’re not inclined to fill them. Don’t self diagnose but present all of the information and ask the questions. Really advocate for yourself and write it all down before you go in so you don’t get derailed or fobbed off. You shouldn’t just accept pain, even if it can’t be cured it should be explained.
I have been on contraception for 10 years. Works perfectly. For the past 6 months every 2 months or so I was spotting. Because it was longer than 2 cycles I went to gp who did a blood test etc all normal. Thank you, I will be pushing for some other tests, I’ve been finding random bruises as well & I don’t normally bruise very easily so may be anaemic going to get some iron tablets, I’m just so frustrated with it all, the periods I’m having are more than spotting, I’ve not taken my pill today I’m going to come off it, just dreading the heaviness of my next period along with the pain. I’ve been on the pill in the past for a long time when I was younger & never had this problem before, so either is my age or something else which needs sorting.I have been on contraception for 10 years. Luckily my health insurance has just kicked olin. Within a week I had an appointment and went to a gyno. Had an internal scan, everything fine and just my body getting too used the the contraception so need to switch or take a break. I do have a cyst but she showed me it's normal. Plus wouldn't cause any spotting.
You need an internal ultrasound. Make sure it's internal. You need to push. Likelihood is it's nothing but pain and bleeding should not be ignored.
Strikes will often get called off at the last minute but make a solid Plan B. Generally speaking, if tube strikes go ahead, public transport is ducked. Where’s the gig and where are you travelling from?Any Londoners who knows what happens on strike days?
I have a concert in London on 7 Nov and it says the whole underground will be on strike
Euston to the O2 in Greenwich. I was thinking of shelling out for a hotel if the strikes are that bad. The Thames Clipper boat service goes to the O2 and IIRC wouldn’t be affected by a strike so if you can get yourself to one of the piers that might be an option though from previous experience it gets extremely busy so I’d allow extra time.Euston to the O2 in Greenwich. I think a hotel is a good idea. Give yourself double the usual amount of time to get there. Whatever mode of transport you use, it will be horribly busy.Euston to the O2 in Greenwich. Check with them and if they don’t then ask them to use yours for the tripMy nearly 7 year old has been invited for birthday outing for a friend's birthday. Her friend's family have offered to drive the guests in their cars. I'm a bit unsure . I don't think their family use car seats anymore.
