Hi random advice gurus! Anyone in the position of their little ones starting reception next year? Does anyone know if there’s a thread for it? We’re in a rubbish position where we are looking to relocate but don’t know much about the area and my mum guilt is going into overdrive. 🙈
Mine will be and I know there’s plenty of others on here but only from threads about influences with similar age kids, I’m not aware of a specific one.
Perhaps try the toddler thread?
What are you feeling guilty about? I often see people post on local Facebook groups asking for first hand experience of the local schools.

The guilt is worrying that we may not sell and move in time for the school year to start. Where we currently live we have an amazing primary school so it’s really hard to think about a new area that I have no insider info about ie schools (also all the schools are CofE/church type schools. We aren’t religious) but we have so outgrown where we live and just can’t afford to buy a bigger place here. Yay London 🙃. I’ve joined a local Facebook group so just waiting for the approval. Thank you!

Can I order something in duty free online at Manchester airport and collect it when I land? I can’t find the answer online and I don’t want to take it with me on holiday!

I get the impression no. It’s in departures so I think you have to take it with you. You could order at the airport you come back from maybe?

Random problem, an not sure if it's worth seeing a doctor or not, an Tbh not sure how to even describe it to them an if they will take it seriously

At night when in bed I start to feel super uncomfortable with either an arm or leg etc, it's strange like it's not painful of anything it just doesn't "feel" right if that makes sense, its like a wrong feeling, almost like that feeling you get when you put shoes on the wrong feet, it's not painful it's just a strange uncomfortable feeling that you know is wrong

It's random with what it will be an when I get it, last night it was my right arm, an it's starting to keep me up all night because no matter what I do the feeling just won't go an I can't get comfortable, by morning after I've managed to sleep am back to being fine again

Has anyone else suffered from this? I don't know what could be causing it

Doesn’t look like it from the world duty free website, only click and collect is departures.
You could check if it’s sold on board your flight.
Seems like it’s only fags that are much cheaper these days in duty free.

If it’s muscular/achey you could try a magnesium supplement. It really helps with restless legs at night and general relaxing the muscles.

I get this sometimes too 😭 like nothing painful or achey but you just can't get comfortable and no position feels right! Super frustrating and not sure how to fix it when it occurs.

Have you got a new mattress or are you due a new one? It maybe your mattress is old and springs have gone without you knowing.

I know this is an odd suggestion!

£10K but the settlement fee is £4K
I think you / your friend might be confusing settlement fee with the interest?

For a 10k loan, for example, the settlement *figure* could be more than that, because of interest. A few years into the loan, it will be lower, but will still take into account interest.

Are they saying that to pay off the 10k, 4k will be added? How old is the loan? What percentage is the interest rate?

Thanks I might try that, it such a strange pain because I don't feel it at any other time other than at night when am trying to sleep, I suppose it could be something that's built up all day an then hits me at night

Not really, mattress isn't that old an typically is really comfortable, it can sometimes take a few mins to get comfy but once I am it's fine

I honestly don't know, it didn't make any sense to me, I might ask her a few more questions as she's not the most savvy with money (like she thinks she's debt free but I've told her a loan is a debt)

As avabella says more info is needed. it it a settlement fee or settlement figure.
The settlement figure is the total sum required to clear the loan.
The settlement fee is added to the outstanding balance so that the company who loaned still makes money from the transaction since they will no longer be making it from the interest.
If a fee, it sounds like a dodgy high interest loan because £4k on £10k is a high sum.
How can she possibly think she's debt free when she has a loan?!

Another problem, more my parents but they aren't on here

How do I go about reporting a garage that's sold a car that's apparently not been road legal?

So parents got a car last year, it went for it's very first MOT today an has failed it because it's tires were the wrong size, we replaced the front two yesterday due to wear an tear but have never replaced the back two an it's the back two that failed the car, so they have sold us this either not caring the tires were the wrong size or haven't had the car checked properly before selling it
