He might be known to them already, you might not be the first, but ultimately if no one reports anything, even though we know they won’t do anything when you do, how can the police ever start to build a case against repeat offenders? You're right. I'm just overthinking and panicking.
I'm not sure what the police will do
they will (hopefully) protect you in a way that your frankly useless to the point of negligence HR department are not. You're right. I'm just overthinking and panicking.

Do report it to the police. Although this happened in a work setting consider the two ‘cases’ entirely separate for the purposes of your safety, in so far as regardless of the fact this happened at work it is still something that should be reported to the police. Whatever the outcome of the HR process is, it’s important you make it known to those outside of HR what he has done/said, and some advice and practical supports from the police can only be a good thing for you.He might be known to them already, you might not be the first, but ultimately if no one reports anything, even though we know they won’t do anything when you do, how can the police ever start to build a case against repeat offenders?
Very belated but I (unfortunately) have some experience of thisYou're right. I'm just overthinking and panicking.

That was my shop you were in and an old lady came in after you to ask if we still had it as she'd been reunited with her family and wanted to treat them.I did something morally grey today…. Found a yellow sticker item with two yellow stickers, and took off the higher priced yellow sticker so it scanned as lower. Doesn’t sound too bad, until you find out the pricesit was a 12 portion slab pie from the entertaining range, a cancelled order, originally £18, yellow stickered down to £6.50 on the top, and another yellow sticker on the side saying “was £2.20, now 75p”! I knew fully well it must be a mistake and someone has put the wrong sticker on, but I still did it, and I feel a bit like I stole it
Reading that my heartrate actually shot upThat was my shop you were in and an old lady came in after you to ask if we still had it as she'd been reunited with her family and wanted to treat them.
Jokes, enjoy your pie
Don’t worry about it, I’m sure you’re not the only person who’s done that or took a yellow sticker off one item and placed it on another. Technically you’re not at fault, although you knew it was an error the sticker was placed incorrectly by a member of staff not you. I wouldn’t worry & enjoy it xReading that my heartrate actually shot up
I feel so guilty like I’ve got bad karma now and need to rectify it, is that weird?
It would have gotten chucked anyway if you didn’t buy it so have it and enjoy itReading that my heartrate actually shot up

girl, call the police. Call. The. Police.I've not wanted to involve the police because I've been worried I'm overreacting but now I'm actually scared so maybe it is time.
