Yep! They might be the Romeo and Juliet of our generation for all we know but it’s all he’s reduced to now when anyone talks about him, and because of Taylor and how she’s portrayed in the media, he’s always the villain!
I've been holding off commenting on this thread for some time now.
But the wedding has riled me big time. These recent photos G has had done are nothing but porn. What has this got to do with the most special romantic day of your life? The photos are awful and very tacky. Certainly not something you'd want to show your kids whilst reminiscing about your wedding day or when you celebrate your anniversary.
I love Matty but this is so wrong to me. Surely he must feel something is not right about it. It's like she's exploited him for her own gain. And it's everything he has been against in regards to fame and doing things for clout.
I miss the old Matty. I fear we will never get him back.

I saw something on tiktok yesterday that was like ‘people forget gabriette was already known as the it girl of our generation and had a successful career before Matty Healy’
that’s hilarious because I never heard of her until I saw the pics of her walking with matty after he and taylor swift broke up, and I thought she was amelia hamlin.
also re: gabbriette, everyone on my social media loves her and harps on about how iconic and groundbreaking she is, but I could never warm to her. her look isn’t that groundbreaking to me (the skinny brows are really popular in Mexico as shes of Mexican descent and she’s just reheating 90s angelina jolie’s nachos), and I’ve watched videos of her and she has no star quality and lacks charisma. and she also comes across rude because she screams at people to shut up whenever she’s talking in videos. Idk what the appeal is but I feel like I’m the only one who doesn’t see the appeal

You certainly are not the only one. I just can't warm to her at all. And the exploitation of the wedding and weird photos has cemented that for me.

What I find odd about the whole thing is the fact her whole circle are very clearly big on the coke, I don't understand how that logistically works? I used to have a coke problem and have had to completely remove everyone from my life who still does it (except the odd coffee date with a couple). I do still drink alcohol though, maybe the fact he doesn't makes the impulse control easier? I can't bleeping stand being around up people though and when you're sober it's completely worse

I had never heard of her before she started dating Matty, but then I don’t keep up with any of the ‘worlds’ she’s involved in. Maybe she was the It Girl in those areas for all I know. I remember seeing comments when they started dating that a lot of people thought she came across as a poser/social climber when Charli’s show came out and she got put in that band.
I know she’s lost a ton of weight to get the figure she has which is quite alarming, I’ve seen pictures where she was nowhere near this thin. I don’t think they’ll last, but I am surprised the wedding went ahead.

I’m not a 1975 fan but know of Matty, never heard of Gabriette til they started dating. Hadn’t seen any wedding photos but had to look after the pics posted above. I couldn’t see a single nice wedding picture? I get they’re oh so achingly cool and trendy and likely aren’t going to have traditional photos but everything on her insta is just tacky and try hard. It’s a bit sad really to reduce your wedding day to a sleazy photoshoot featuring the groom as a prop in a handful of photos

With the news about a North American tour next year, I’m thinking a new single & album roll out is imminent, possibly an autumn single release, with an album dropping early 2027! Previous eras BBC radio 1 has had first dibs on the first single play. Wonder if it’ll be the same this time.
The red site’s sub about Matty and Gabriette are mental I think they’re all swifties. He’s clearly gone peak LA, but will no doubt reference it in the next album if it ever does come. If it doesn’t I imagine he’d be petty enough to release as himself/one of the monikers.
