I'm so happy there's a thread for this. 32 and I have a missing tooth when I really smile. hated this for years. The dentist is pushing me for an implant and braces. Every time I go the dentist I need new fillings, 3/4/5/6. My teeth probably sound worst then they look in my head. but I kinda had a red bull and sugary drinks thing through my 20s like a lot. I go the dentist every 6 months, I'm super conscious about my teeth!! But I'm kinda torn if I actually trust my dentist 🤑

4 extractions as a kid due to having too many teeth, a brace for 18 months as a teenager (that was fun). Fine up until a few years back, I got an impacted and infected wisdom tooth - got it removed.
About a month ago, one of my molars fell out randomly. I panicked so much. Turns out it had broken in half and I have a composite filling now.

I’m obsessed with looking after my teeth so god knows why it just broke off!

Similar happened to one of mine, dentist said it’s because I grind and clench my teeth 😬

Has anyone on this thread had composite bonds, and would you recommend? Thankfully my teeth are actually not too bad but there are a couple of minor aesthetic things like a gap and a smaller tooth that bother me and I’m wondering if composite bonding would be worth it, or just more trouble than they’re actually worth.

Implants are SO EXPENSIVE! Maybe hoping to pocket some cash themselves!

Omg. Fell out. That’s literally what my nightmares consist of.

Teeth are SUCH a genetics thing. I was never taken to the dentist as a child, my parents didn't believe in it as apparently modern toothpaste is too good to need it. I went to the dentist for the first time aged 25, I'm now 32 and have no fillings.

I’m similar. I rarely go (embarrassingly) and never had a filling or anything. I had wonky incisors though and got Invisalign so sorted now. I think it really is genetic, I’ve also never broken a bone or anything so maybe it’s just to do with general bone density and strength?

I got to 28 before I got a teeny fracture in my wrist and ruined my no broken bones streak. I'm pretending it doesn't count.

I’m 30, I had a few fillings as a kid I think and got my back teeth coated. I had three years of braces and two surgeries due to a genetic issue but since then I have a tiny 1/4 tooth filling and that’s it. I have also never broken a bone.

Though my dad who drinks pints of whole milk a day, his jaw has stared disintegrating and he’s had to have his front teeth supported and lots of treatment.

I don’t mind my teeth. Could be straighter and white, but they are tiny and I mean tiny which my husband finds hilarious.

28 and teeth are fine for the most part!

I have three fillings that I got in my teens, they are weird grey ones but at the back of my mouth so nobody sees.

The gum around one of my front teeth has receded which makes them look really imbalanced and annoys me. I think you can get some kind of gum surgery to correct it but it’s expensive!

Had braces in my teens and they are all wonky again so I’d like braces but it’s just so expensive 😢

My teeth I’m ok with
Could be abit whiter they are white but otherwise ok
But when I was 16 I knocked my front tooth out and had to have a pin and fake tooth put on the end
About 6 years ago it started to get loose and wobble and drop out and the smell that came out was awfull
Many times I have had to have it re-glued
The smell from the tooth would go away when re-glued but now it’s secure I’m starting to smell it again even though it’s not dropped down or loose
I can run my finger along my gum above it and smell it
It’s really getting to me
I chew gum at work all the time and when we go out etc
I don’t get too close to anyone but would hate for people to think I have bad breath when I don’t it’s my crown
I don’t have bad breath it’s that one tooth
The last time I went to have re-glued last year the dentist said it was very old the post now and needs to come out and re-do
But it would be an implant not a pin
But it’s so bloody expensive
I can’t afford to have it done
No wonder so many people do have bad teeth
At some point I know Iam going to have to have it done as there will be a time it just won’t glue and the smell is knocking my confidence

This exactly. I've got friends who are non identical twins but they look pretty similar. Very same lifestyle growing up but one has perfectly straight white strong teeth and the other has the opposite. The one with naturally bad teeth gives them a lot more care and attention. But that's life and you can't do anything about the genetics you were given.

Apparently you don’t inherit bad teeth but you can inherit bad saliva which is rubbish at neutralising your mouth🤦🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

My teeth are terrible, I have two cracked back teeth both of which were badly filled in my teens. I need to get them repaired but I'm so scared of the dentist. I have seven fillings including the cracked teeth. Last time I went to the dentist I had to be sedated but I could still feel pain even after two of the numbing injections . My dentist has said he can see I have a very clean mouth but I also have a very sweet tooth. I would honestly love to have all my back teeth out now and have dentures but I'm too scared. It's ridiculous because I'm in discomfort with one of the cracked teeth

I’m 28 and have had 3 fillings, my teeth could be whiter but I hated brushing as a kid 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

Deffo agree with the genetics thing, my Nan passed away a few weeks ago, she was 90 and had never seen a dentist in her life ! And she would eat bones from chicken and all sorts she would never throw out food 🙉🤣🤣

It astounds me that in this day and age we don't have anything really to repair / replace enamel and the best they do is add composite that breaks off often within 1-18 months. I think it's a conspiracy as an enamel that could be painted on would put many dentists out of business 😆

The less you have done the better imo as it starts a process of ongoing and costly maintenance for the rest of your life. And don't go to Turkey to get your teeth filed down to pegs as teeth are part of your overall health! These influencers only do it because it's free for them.

I kinda think there's something in the root canal conspiracy theories and how they let something dead remain in your mouth. But that should go on the conspiracy theories thread 😶

Lidl versions of nked bars are the work of the devil as they often have a bit of the hard nut shell and that's fractured a tooth. The fruit and nut bars are generally horrific for teeth with how they stick anyway.
Agreed, I thought at this point we'd have some kind of magic laser that automatically rebuilds your teeth but guess not 🤣

My teeth are terrible, I take care of them, but they're just weak. I had 3 root canals by the age of 18 🙁 and multiple fillings.

I'm 29 and have no fillings, no extractions, no orthodontic work. I'm convinced most of it is just genetics tbh!

Poor you. I think I’m not far off root canals. Just the thought makes me feel sick 🤢

Oh my!! That’s amazing

My teeth are good over all. Just wish they was alot whiter. Too much coffee and red wine are they are abit stained. Cant afford to pay 100s to get them whitened at the dentist 😔
