If Amy and Diane went (as they should) it would have to be their decision. If the BBC axed a cancer patient and a woman who'd just had a baby they'd face a massive backlash and they need this revamp to be as scandal free as possible. There are a lot of dancers I'd have axed (as well as at least one judge) but I wonder if they're too scared to make too many changes at once. People don't like change on their fave TV shows and it nearly always leads to a ratings drop.

I think they should have had a shake up of the pros a long time ago but it’s risky doing a big cull when there are new presenters due.
If anything, they should throw out the kitchen sink for me. Change everything so people don't focus on the presenters not being Tess and Claudia. Refresh the set which looks dated, refresh the judging panel, new pros, new singers, new presenters, new themes, different musicals and movies on those weeks if persisting with those themes. Just change everything.

Dianne will be there whatever happens. She’d never give it up and the opportunity to talk about herself and the second coming of Christ with her kid
If we think Aljaz was bad for banging on about his kid, lordy are we in for a treat this year.

The news probably hit Michelle the hardest, Gorka was exploring different avenues anyway, Luba & Nadiya rarely have partners and Karen probably expected this day to come.

Good for Ellie, she looks lovely in the picture. She seems like a lovely person and I hope she is able to make the most of her visibility due to Strictly to keep championing the causes she is so passionate about.

Just me that never gets the logic of this whole "they should rest it for a year" thing?

What's actually gonna happen if they do so? They'll just give their viewers time to find something else to watch in the fall instead and the viewing figures will have an even bigger drop when it comes back. It's not even like the show would've been gone for 5-10 years for it to have a bit of a "oh, strictly is coming back, lets check it out again" nostalgia effect. I'm not even gonna go in on the shitstorm that the press will create if they do so.

If they want to switch things up, try something new to improve it etc. etc., they don't need 2 years to think about it, they can just do it for the next series, which for me would be the right moment to do so with the new hosts coming it, frame all of it as a "new era" of the show beginning and all that, change the set as well, try out new themes instead of same tired 3-4 ones they've been doing for 10 years or however long it's been (icons week can get in the bin too even if it's a newer one, it doesn't work).

And even if you assume the break between the series is not enough time for them to think properly about what can be done and they need more for some creative ideas to come out, they can just start making plans for a revamp in lets say 2027 while just keeping it the same as usual in the meantime.

And as much as the press bang about the viewing figures going down, that's basically happening to every show bar the Traitors really just because the viewing habits are changing nowadays across the board. Even with those figures going lower, there's still really nothing else to replace it with in the schedule, it's not just the Saturday live show, they still get very good figures even for the results show and you'll also have to replace the ITT slots too. It makes no sense to shelve it for a year in any sense to me.

I feel I’m rolling my eyes at the thought of Amy, Karen, Nadiya, Dianne will be back if this is true. Show needs such a shake up.

Sell? Righteo… two proud parents show off a picture of their new baby… I’d agree with you if they suddenly shove him in a load of ads- but I’ll reserve judgement until then…
I agree, the grief this couple get on here is bizarre. They are inoffensive, have been together years and haven’t killed any kittens recently. Don’t forget he has made his money from Social Media it’s his job and people are happy for them. I don’t have an allegiance to celebrity but these two seem to be easy pickings for nasty comments. I’m ready for the replies disagreeing 😂

Karen attitude with Eddie was appalling. Eddie deserved better. Same with harry esp as harry one of the popular gladiators he could of went far with a decent teacher likes of katya or jowita.

I really loved Karen with Jamie Laing and their matching hairstyles 😭 I found him so endearing. She is a good pro when the right chemistry is there.

I wonder if her personal life made her take stock of what matters to her and she just doesn't take it too seriously anymore.
She was great with Jamie and Chris Ramsey, both weaker dancers that she managed to get far by playing to their strengths and just having fun. I don't know when or why it happened but at some point she just seemed to give up. Her choreo with Harry was so lazy. I really like her as a person but it's time for her to go if she's not willing to put the effort in. I'd love to see her and Katya replace Shirley and Anton as judges.

i know!!! i like her and she’s great in the group pro numbers but she’s so checked out of actually having a celeb and doesn’t even try to hide it - how is she still there?!

as annoying as some of the other female pros are, they’re at least enthusiastic about the teaching side 🤦🏼‍♀️
Same as that. I like Karen, I think she is great with those who are not going to get very far, and she embraces the bit of fun that goes into getting them to enjoy what they are doing. But I do feel she has let down partners with potential.

Disappointed if it's true that Michelle and Luba are gone. Neither got the chances that they should have.

I think Gorka got the memo that it's about the celebrity, and making sure that they enjoy the experience. Nikita Kanda, for example. Not the best of dancers but the two of them always looked like they were having the best of fun in their dances. Gorka pitched it to her level, and tbh I think others could learn from that. I think he may have found a niche as a judge and fair dues, if so.
