I think this is a much fairer way of doing the contracts than giving someone hope of getting a partner then repeatedly benching them. I wouldn't even keep Nancy and Neil for the group numbers though, they don't really bring anything to the show.

True, but also kinda limits them when it comes to the pairings. What if there's a celeb that will work well with Neil or actually requests him (shockingly or not Toyah actually did lol), but will now have to end up paired with someone they might not work with at all.

I'm still a bit confused on the Neil/Nancy part of the rumours, because they don't have the celeb lineup yet (doubt it's finalised this early), so how would they know they need X male and Y female pros this year, so they can already decide who's gonna be on the bench.

I won't be surprised if there's 2 type of contracts though - one for the most popular ones that are guaranteed a partner and a different ones for the rest, where they might get some of the remaining celebs, but might also be benched. So Neil, Nancy (and a few others + the newbies) might be in that second group and some of them will still get a partner depending on the chemistry circle thing.

I would think Neil is kept it is for his choreography skills.

Wonder how they decide the order to release the goodbyes. I'd have expected length of time on the show but if so Gorka would be before Nads

Tbf, Michelle herself hasn't said anything, has she? I don't think Strictly have either so Nadiya and Karen would be the official, official ones.

I know Michelle basically confirmed it with those paparazzi last night but I don't think there's been anything other than that, unless I missed something while I was in work.

They'll probably slot him in next, so he's kinda in the middle of all the female pros leaving.
