I doubt they would invite them to audition if that was the case, why waste everyone's time if they would've been written off anyway for that reason.

I feel it's probably more of a case of the producers wanting some new faces for the 'rebrand', but still had some familiar ones in the mix just in case everyone else bombed at the auditions and they were the only workable options.

Then again we now have Johannes in the rumour mill, which makes no sense to me, so hoping it's just the media getting their clicks while the iron is hot as they don't seem to know (yet) who the second host is gonna be. I love Johannes, but he has no experience and I just can't imagine him working in that role ... also why would they announce him as a pro if he was in the running for the host spot, they would've just delayed the pro announcement after the hosts one when it would've been clear which role he'd have.
It really feels unreal that Johannes is being touted as someone capable of interviewing celebs and pros in between their dances. He is a very quiet man, may have a lot of dance knowledge and may be a great performer. That is not quite the same as a great communicator verbally.

But why invite her if they wanted new faces though?
Let us conider....
how many of the named people have the BBC said they are considering? Officially?
Most of the names discussed could be purely conjecture and fan suggestions/wishful thinking and media invention.

I know Zoe has said she hasnt got the job, but do we know for sure that she was invited to audition?
Her Agent could have put her name forward rather than her being approached.
We don't know.
And there's always some attention seeking click baiting Sun journo etc saying they have sources etc
It could all be pure invention.

I don't know anymore.

I might start a rumour that Ant and Dec's ITV contract is up and they've defected to the BBC to host Strictly.
I'm a celeb to be scrapped.
BGT search for new presenters.
Bradley Walsh and Alison Hammond are front runners.
🤣🤣🤣

I think Zoe definitely auditioned, she said somewhere she had spent two days back in the Strictly environment or words to that effect.

Before the day is out, a tabloid will have this as gospel truth. All of it. 🤣

Still think first and foremost its about who can cope with hours of live television presenting and make it look as effortless as possible because there's nothing worse than watching hosts stumbling and fumbling over their words (like nearly everyone ever who is invited to read the terms and conditions off the autocue) its toe curling.

Viewers just want to sit back and relax and almost forget its live which lets be honest when Brucie was politely guided out of the door we then could just breathe and watch without being on edge all of the time.

I don't massively care if i even like the new presenters I just want them to be a Tess and Claud level of professional so it stays watchable .

Unless I've missed it, has Emma Willis even been confirmed? Isn't that just from The Sun again?

I did see a mention that Johannes could be a roving reporter as part of a presenting trio.

Oh I hope they're not going to try and do what they do on The Voice and have the pairs backstage watching on.

Shall we put Dianne in the mix. Strictly production love her, just had a baby so perhaps less hours is appealing to her (although I doubt that lol).

Absolutely this. It's cosy tv, in the winter months. Tess kept things running smoothly and on track, Claudia was there for the more off the cuff stuff. They were, for me, an ideal combination. The fact that they clearly liked each other and got on well all contributed to the success of their presenting. And they always made it about the participants, never about themselves.

Theirs are big shoes to fill, and there's a balance to be achieved of keeping things familiar but allowing for some change too.

Blimey, think they will have to announce soon. They are all coming out of the woodwork now, apparently Fleur was talking about it on the radio this morning and said she was disappointed to not be considered for the job🤣 Still I suppose you can see why she might be miffed if the Johannes thing is true. Janette is going to be apoplectic with all of her presenting experience🫣

I imagine they're going to shake up the format a bit, so they might have created a new role that Johannes could do 'backstage with JoJo' or something - that's less demanding than a main presenting gig. I don't love him but if it means they axe the awful 'we're dancing a Foxtrot, so for inspiration we went to meet some baby fox cubs' videos then I'll be happy.

Wonder if it could be ITT type content but put in main show, like him talking to people during the dress rehersal?

As much as we all called tess robotic she never fluffed or flapped and was a very safe pair of hands.

I just the powers that be would hurry up & confirm the presenting team. Fed up of seeing someone from the s*n throwing names at the wall this past few days for clicks.....
