Mhmm 🤔 well it's not the point of who are they hurting, how do you know they're a really nice couple?? you don't personally know them to make that judgement, plus Steve Marsh has a habit of being two faced in the videos, being nice to people and then moaning about them, he's fake that way
Like I said , they come across like a nice couple .obviously thats all I can judge them on. If you really don't like him don't watch. I enjoy his stuff. Guess life would be very boring if we all liked the same things.

On a older vlog they were on a trip in Scotland and A had her work the next day. They were travelling home it was getting late and Steve said to A why don't you take tomorrow off and we'll get pizza tonight. She said no, and I take it she went to her work the next day. Steve comes across lazy. I suppose when you get money for living your life going on continuous holidays it will make you more lazy. He has the cheek to call this a job.
Hahahaa yeah it's not a job at all, it's a hobby making videos, a lot of these Yuotubers are bloody deluded. I think i remember that video and found it strange that he assumed that 'her workplace' was so flexible that she can just take a day off last minute. He is actually lazy, imagine giving his marketing job up which was a proper job.

Each to their own, I actually enjoy the travel aspect of his vlogs so of course i will keep watching the videos, I don't need to like him to watch his videos plus i enjoy watching both of em making a tit of themselves, it's amusing

Well if he couldn't live off his YT earnings then he shouldn;t have given up his job then, simple, even without patreon he is earning enough to support him and her per month. It looks like she's chosen to be with him due to his YT popularity and the fact he has his own flat and a car, she ain't daft, she's chosen an easier lifestyle for herself. Nobody is obsessing, we're only giving our opinions, a healthy discussion. Mind you, i have to say that some of us are more tuned into them than others 👍
I'm sorry but what? If a creator can't live off YouTube earnings exclusively then they shouldn't give up their conventional 9-5 jobs? Is that what you're saying? If so, why? Why shouldn't creators use platforms like Patreon to support themselves? Why shouldn't artists/creators have patrons? What year are we living in?

It's so weird how having a car is being glamorized like this massive be all end all status achievement where a woman from a country that is part of the EU is long-term dating an older man to gain access to... being a passenger in a car. What year are we living in?

Remember in Steve's birthday vlog, where they go through the blue door (that Alicja didn't think existed) and they come across that rubbish that folk had left near the stream. I really admired Alicja's decision to take it to the bin. Steve wouldn't have bothered his ass to take it to the bin if she hadn't been there because she genuinely cares for the environment but he doesn't. Anyway, so they take the rubbish to the bin and Steve tells her just to leave it at the side of the bin and i'm thinking WHAT???? any decent person would contain the rubbish inside the frickin bin, it just shows you how ignorant he is cos that rubbish would get blown back down to the stream and be scattered everywhere if there was a wind. If it had been left to Alicja i know she would have broke up the boxes and put them in the bin with the other rubbish but cos of Steve telling her to 'leave it' she just done what he said like a sap, it's obvious big man Steve is the boss in the relationship.

We're living in the Age of Stupid, that's what.... People paying these Youtubers to watch their videos when they're free to watch??? It sounds like a lot of these YT followers have money to burn. They should give money to people that need it like charities, homeless etc It's 2025 luv and most people have a real job, they go out to work or work from home and earn a living. YT is not a job.

These videos exist in the quantity they do because the creators make money via sponsorships or subscription/donation platforms like Patreon. There would be no weekly videos to watch for free if a subset of the audience weren't subsidizing a creator who doesn't do sponsorships via a subscription service unless that creator is independently wealthy/flush with free time. There is an audience that wants this content and wants it regularly and will pay to ensure it keeps coming. Creating that content is a job. It's paid labor. Labor can be enjoyable. Enjoying it doesn't discount it as labor.

I don't know what this boomer mindset is that people shouldn't earn money from their hobbies. How austere and utterly antiquated and soulless. Artists and creators shouldn't earn money even if people want to pay them for what they produce because...doing tit you like and other people appreciate isn't a job?... A real job evidently requires alienation of labor, i.e. like being a marketing drone in a corporation making someone else rich. Misery.

In older vlogs he had a silver transit and they slept in it on trips. The duvet and pillows looked filthy. I wouldn't have put my dog in it. And the "cooking station" was a joke. Sometimes I question their personal cleanliness on these camping trips too.

As mentioned we are living in the Age of Stupid.... a bunch of fools giving money to these big channels on YT??? If these people like Marsh really enjoy their so called YT 'job' then they should be happy creating content reguarly without any patreon. It's ok to support small channels but not the big ones. Would Steve Marsh pay to watch YT channels??? hahaa would he hell 😉

Yep the Disney Wives as well and a lot of the animal channels like Ricco the parrot, who posts content every day has no patreon, they do it because they enjoy it as a hobby

Steve has nearly 300k subs. It's not like he's just starting out. People are funding him to go on holiday. Crazy.

Gary eats has no patreon and around the same subs and views as Steve. Steve is just lazy and greedy.

1) Two out of three of those people have 10x the subscriber count Steve does. Obviously they make a tit ton more than someone like Steve from YT views alone. I don't think creators with smaller followings need to "pay their dues" and for some bizarre reason spend years earning very little from their efforts with the hope of one day accumulating a massive following and living off Ad Sense alone, do you? Why?

2) This Macmaster person has a donation link and a crappy low effort merch store.

I don't know if he or Dale do sponsorships, I do not watch them. If they do, then that negates this entire conversation. I don't believe B&B does but I could be wrong, I don't watch him regularly.

3) And? What again is the problem with providing your supporters the option to subsidize your content? This isn't some hard sell where the bucket is being passed around the church and the struggling parish guilt tripped to donate. It's "if you like what I make and want to see more, feel free to join my Patreon".

I will also just add as a side note that Steve, like or dislike his content, is not grifting. He does not make trending, exploitative bull content. And that counts for something.

Oh i remember that van, it was tiny inside with what looked like a single bed, and there was plastic boxes below the bed with pot noodles etc in them. I can imagine the duvets would be filthy, plus no toilet in it. Steve has already mentioned in quite a few videos that Alicja squats behind bushes to pee when they're out camping, not sure why he feels he has to mention that 🤔 plus where do they wash and wash their underwear? in the polluted streams? 🤢 they always look kinda scruffy when out camping and climbing, the hair no even brushed and all that. I always get the feeling that Steve is trying to re live his childhood like pretending he's a boy scout going on adventures and she's the same, she's really immature

Gary has a 1) PayPal donation link 2) drop ships garbage merch 3) has professional management.

Why again is that tit cool but a Patreon is a problem?
But he doesn't have the begging for Patreons/taking money from people when they can watch for free anyway. I suppose we just need to agree to disagree with eachother 🤷

Right... Watching the content for free that only exists in the volume that it does because a subset of the audience is subsidizing its creation because THEY WANT IT and want it every week or more. Got it. And having a 100% optional Patreon where you provide extra content in exchange for a small monthly fee is "begging" but a PayPal donation link isn't begging. Selling sweatshop dropshipped merch is a legit revenue-generating tactic as well for some reason. Cameo too probably. Having professional management also is good. But Patreon is just utterly mysteriously condemnable. Fascinating.

I'm very happy to agree to disagree with all that lol.

Having Patreon is just lazy and requires no extra work, but gives you mega money depending on how many dafties you have. He has a lot. He has the Patreon sign plastered over the TV screen at the start of each vlog. He's the only vlogger that does this.
