Perhaps we should just throw all men out of the country?

“The vast majority of child sex offenders in England and Wales are male, with men representing 98% of all defendants in 2015/16. A 2020 report by the Centre of Expertise on Child Sexual Abuse stated that "In the records of defendants prosecuted for child sexual abuse offences" among those in which ethnic background was recorded "the vast majority were white (89%); 6% were Asian, 3% were Black, 1% were from mixed ethnic backgrounds and 1% were from "other" ethnic backgrounds."

(obviously I’m not suggesting we throw all men out of the country)
Made up by the BBC, bit of conflict of interest there, don’t you think?

Take a look at the real statistics

Can’t believe what I’ve just read on here. Anyone with a brain should be concerned about the uncivilised immigrants that are entering the country everyday. If you don’t, and you have young children, then I’d be seriously concerned you can’t safeguard them if you can’t even recognise real threats.
Why do the people voicing their "concerns" always show themselves up?

Another thing that appears to be happening which doesn’t help is the amount of people going purely to live stream it. These people are wannabe TikTok famous people that are using this to grow their following/views.

That’s not me saying seeing things play out from the ground isn’t helpful, to an extent it is. But last night I watched one from Bristol just as it started getting violent and the police were running over to the area where they’d starting fighting and were having to shout “Get back” “get out of the way” and onlookers filming. The guys whose live I was watching got shouted at and then he went off on a barrage of abuse at the officer “I’m bleeping moving you bleeping wanker, bleeping wick” YOURE IN THE WAY YOU ABSOLUTE BAFFOON

People putting themselves at risk purely for TikTok views. This world is mental.
The Twitter video from Hull, of the mob setting someone's car on fire and shouting the P word, has stickers edited into it. Someone thought this was funny enough to add cartoon tomato gifs?

There is a 'peaceful protest' planned in my town today. So peaceful that the bus company has said it will not run a service between 1 and 6 today, and people are being warned to stay out of town and put off whatever they need to do for a few days. I feel so angry and embarrassed that they doing this here.

I am so glad that these people are safeguarding my kids by, checks notes, making town centres unsafe for them to go in due to violence and burning down libraries. Great work chaps

The actual statistics are from the CSA centre which is funded by the Home Office and Barnados. If you could point me to a more accurate site I would happily look there.

To be fair, that’s probably the demographic of the country, so each ethnicity is represent proportionally, which isn’t surprising.

I do wish we were more like Australia in terms of how they allow people in to their country, be to live or just to holiday.

I know not everyone will have a criminal record but it would filter out many “wrong’uns” who come over.

My opinion on that has nothing to do with race before people jump at me.

We should not forgot when we talk about the working class that it's not only made of white british people who csn retrace their ancestry at least 5 generations in the UK. Many migrants and seconde generation migrants are doing jobs that many people don't want to do. Just look around you: who are the cleaners, the carers, the garbage collectors the nannies, the deliverymen?

For a long time more British people were leaving the UK looking for opportunities and a better life abroad. It's only the last century that the trend has reversed. The concept of nation has made us believe that the people of a nation is a static group while people has always been mobile to a certain degree.

I see many people from all background working hard, integrating, doing their best to contribute to society and it makes me sad that the increase of physical abuse based on ethnicity is bringing fear and loneliness. We can protest for that something like the Southport murders don't happen again but we can ask for everybody to be safe at the same time. It's not a contradiction.

Exactly the point I was trying to make. There are wrong uns of all sexes, colours, ethnicities, faiths, etc. Demonising a particular group is usually used by those trying to control the narrative for their own gain.

Without wanting to be hysterical, it’s what happened in Nazi Germany and we all saw how that went.

Not far off

Government data about the UK's different ethnic groups. 82% of people in England and Wales are white, and 18% belong to a black, Asian, mixed or other ethnic group(2021 Census data).

What is it we are protecting our kids from that white British men don’t do?

I’d say most people have some concerns over both immigration and violent attacks on mosques (as an example). They likely also already had concerns over “uncivilised behaviour” amongst “The Great British public” even before all this kicked off 🤷🏻‍♀️

I see your point but his parents were the immigrants and as far as we know they haven't committed any crimes.

The attacker here was born and raised in the UK, if we had such a policy when they came he wouldn't have existed yet.

My comment was not in relation to the attacker or his family.

Just in general.

It is easy to dismiss the rioters as knuckle dragging oafs but there must be a reason why they feel the way they do.
Generally working class areas are deprived to start with, and the influx of migrants from other deprived/war-torn parts of the world does not improve the situation for the original inhabitants ...
It's easy because the rioters (those attacking random black and brown people, destroying property, looting and those just along for the ride, filming it on their phones) are "knuckle dragging oafs". The vast majority are racists but there are also those who welcome any opportunity for violence and thieving.

If they weren't "knuckle dragging oafs" they might be inclined to ask why "generally working class are are deprived to start with" but most of them 'feel the way they do' because for 50 years or more they and their parents have been told that the reason is because of black and brown people.

In the early days the people that told them this were unashamed facists, racists and far right Nazis - Combat 18, the National Front, BNP etc. The humiliation of Nick Griffin on Question Time made them realise that they had to change strategy if they ever wanted to gain real power. So over the years they have become more 'respectable', cloaking their aims behind mainstream political issues and increasingly supported by people motivated by opportunities that a right wing, authoritarian government would bring for their personal gain.

The rioters are simply the foot soldiers for those that want to achieve this, 'thick as mince' cannon fodder that can mobilised to destroy democracy and their own lives simply by someone pointing at somebody who looks different to them. It's not a new tactic, it's was used by the same sort of people 90 odd years ago and for hundreds of years before that. Unfortunately there are still too many people too stupid to learn the lessons of history and to the realise that yet again they are being played.

A library is hardly a disruption..

It's not a hospital, clinic, or a place of that much importance
I’ve just caught up on this thread and I’m writing this to tell you that you’re a vile twit who needs to learn a lot more in life if you think all of this is acceptable. People like you belong in hell.
