I’m assuming that the point isn’t that all of these people aren’t opportunistic rioters
Well they are because why haven’t they been rioting for months/years? Why did they choose Monday as a starting point?

I probably didn’t word it very well but the point I was trying to get across was that it is easy for us to talk about what is happening but they are just being dismissed as far right when they could just be hard working people who are upset.
im hard working and upset but my solution wasn’t to go attacking mosques and immigrants. My parents are both children of immigrants so the fact that the upset is around immigrants repulses me. Evil comes in all shades so please explain what these hard working people are protesting? Too many immigrants? The same ones who prop up our under funded NHS and probably care for your grandparents in care homes.

The “hard working people who are upset” argument comes up so often when it comes to immigration issues and it’s always used to dismiss the comments that these people are clearly falling into far right ideology and causing problems as a result

Why are they protesting against certain communities and not the government or institutions that clearly failed society by failing to act on signs that someone is dangerous?

A lot of criminals don’t go from 0 to a 100 this quickly and there are signs that they need some sort of intervention

Maybe because the government don’t listen to them and they have no other avenues left. And I don’t believe these people are ‘far right’ either.

…right because they have such a long history of protesting outside of the government and adding pressure to that and voting for parties that aren’t just focusing on one big issue that they’re drawn to and nothing else

Come on now.

I'm struggling to understand why some people are excusing the rioters attacking religious buildings, looting shops, setting fire to things and physically abusing police officers. If it comes out this kid is Christian, are we to expect people to start attacking churches? Cos we all know that isn't going to happen. Its just an excuse to go after people that "don't look like a British person should"
Where were the riots after the Soham murders? Or when Brianna Gheys murderers were named? We didn't feel the need to take our country back then did we?

There needs to be conversations about immigration, I absolutely agree. This government have been in post 3 weeks. However, most people who come to this country contribute to society, pay their way, pay to use the NHS and work damn hard. Just like we don't allow a white serial killer to tarnish all white people, we shouldn't allow it to happen the other way.

Would be much quicker if you just said anyone protesting is a big thick racist and you are so much better and smarter and more worthy than them,

I find it funny that the ‘ACAB’ lot are now the biggest fans of law and order personally.

You can still be against police brutality and think policing needs reform while also understanding the importance of them on our streets 👍

I find it funny that the biggest police supporters are now making excuses for those attacking them. Personally.

To be fair, having seen many of these rioters, I don’t think we are talking about Nobel prize winners here.

I’m not excusing anyone attacking police as I have relatives who could be put in harm’s way but I do think people have a right to protest even if I disagree with them. I can voice my opinions and say I don’t like them but they still have the right to do it. And I wasn’t referring to people on here btw. It is more just the twitter lot who were screaming ACAB during the George Floyd thing which had duck all to do with this country but now they are suddenly big fans of the police because it white people.

Setting fire to a Citizens Advice Bureau is really helpful for hard working people who probably are the ones who need that service the most.

Why do you keep going on about George Floyd? I'm not sure he's been mentioned by anyone here other than you. I don't understand the relevance of people in America protesting against police brutality because a man was murdered on the pavement by a cop, and this.
