I can see where @Jas19/2 is coming from here. I think it’s a mixture of things, it’s not just the Southport attacks, it’s the attacks on innocent people happening every day, each one seemingly becoming more shocking than the others. The crimes are committed by a mixture of different people from all walks of life and people have had enough. The rioting I don’t agree with, peaceful protests fine but violence doesn’t solve anything. Tensions are extremely high in this county now, people are at boiling point and I can totally understand why. I’m scared for my children’s future. Whatever peoples opinion here on this thread, that’s their opinion and they are entitled to it, whether you think it’s right or not. I don’t agree with people policing other peoples thoughts, or trying to start arguments at a time when people need to unite more than ever. If you don’t agree with it, and you can’t respect someone else’s opinion (however different to your own) hit the ignore button it’s there for a reason.

The government can’t keep lashing people in a box and calling it far right
They need to acknowledge that their is a problem it needs solving
But they are apposed to doing anything about it

You can’t riot to stop people hurting others when you’re doing the same 22 police officers AND dogs out of work plus the many innocent bystanders getting attacked to stop other people attacking and killing people? It makes 0 sense and it’s people with 0 brain cells joining in

I don’t give a damn that apparently this man has autism and was a quiet choir boy. I have no ducks to give. I’m also an introverted, autistic former choir singer but at 17 he is not a child. He can work, he can have sex, he can get married (in some parts of the U.K.) and he can join the army.

All I care about is that he murdered three innocent little girls and injured many, many more. This wasn’t an accident. This appears to be a planned attack. He can rot in hell. The media disgust me trying to paint him as as a sweet little boy. He is not. He’s old enough to understand what he did. The reality is if a white man killed three black children there would be riots. It would also immediately be called an act of racism.
I do not agree with the violent protests that have happened since. I think that is vile. However it is very clear to me that there is two tier policing going on and that isn’t fair either nor will it do much to quench simmering tensions.

I could not agree more with you. I abhor the actions of those rioting. I understand the anger (and feel it myself) but it would be so much more impactful if people went out there and protested peacefully.
There is two tier policing though. As you say, if the victims were of any other ethnicity people would be bending over backwards to understand the violent reaction, not condemn it.

People are rioting because they’re fed up. Yes there’s better ways of doing things but people are bleeping angry! And they seem to be getting demonised more than a child knifing, murdering, sick bleeping monster who went in court and SMILED!!!

So the government does what exactly to stop all crimes? Baring in mind it’s not just people from other countries killing people here, one of my closest friends was stabbed to death last year by a woman 20+ years older then him who had groomed him from a teenager. Where was the riots about that? People are going out to riot for one reason only, because they want to get their closeted racist views out. The riots in Southport were because they assumed a man who come over last year on a boat killed 3 kids, it was a british citizen. If it was a white man who done it no riots would have happened because they were more assed about it being an immigrant rather than the little girls who died. Where’s all the riots for Lucy Letby a white woman killing multiple babies?

We are more horrified because they are little, vulnerable, tiny little girls they are CHILDREN!!! Tiny little girls terrified knifed to death by a bleeping deranged monster, without their mums or dads to protect them, fuxking terrified can you imagine the absolute pain and horror! It goes against every fuckkng fibre of human nature! Why the actual duck are you even trying to minimise & compare it!

How on earth does this 'lead back to the same issue'? He is not an immigrant he was born here! You can't even explain why his parents coming from Rwanda has anything to do with him being a murderer.

How about the Dunblane massacre, he was a white guy. Plymouth mass murderer was a white guy. But no one riots then. No one riots for all the women who are victims of male violence.

Comparing is minimising! Asking how the statistics on men murdering grown women, which will have varying reasons, is different to a sick monster knifing 6 vulnerable little girls is MINIMISING the pain and horror. In my opinion, you have your own

Just had this pop up on my page so apologies if already shared but although nothing major happened and these guys are acting like wicks the police haven’t handled it very well.

This was the guy who got bit by the dog. I applaud the handler.
They were getting closer and closer, they deserved what they got.

ETA there is a longer clip where the guy in blue is swiping at the riot police. Possible risk of trying to swipe a baton. He deserved worse

Lucy Letby was found guilty after months and months at trial & stacks of evidence. She was never actually caught in the act & a lot of people think she’s innocent. I don’t, but many people do. She didn’t run in a dance class & knife little girls to death. Why are you trying so hard to compare what happened it is not the same!!

We all know killing girls is wrong. It's not a competition to be the most horrified by it.

People posting viewpoints regarding their experiences etc is ok. Everyone is discussing. Sometimes things can be mentioned that you personally hadn't thought about. It's discourse.

The letby thing is a completely different type of case. Comparing her to shipman would be more appropriate. People didn’t riot as they heard about the initial inquiry and trial before they knew about the case. It’s a completely different scenario

Psychiatric units are not at all cushy

It depends on the set up.
I have worked on psychiatric wards (where people go when they are unwell) and seen terrible living conditions - often mixed wards with vulnerable people having to live alongside violent men. Grim, dirty looking wards with no privacy, horrible food etc
I have also worked in a secure hospital - where convicted murderers live. The one I worked in, I would definitely describe as cushy.

I wish I could understand this, but I don’t.

Ah but I didn’t actually give my opinion on that, my best friend is Muslim and I don’t think it is anything to do with migration (hence me saying people are committing crimes from all walks of life) so to call me ignorant is uncalled for. The only thing I said everyone is entitled to give their own opinion and if you don’t like it or you can’t respect it then ignore or just move on.
