I don't understand the popularity at all. Are people really dumb enough to think that Nutella is a good option for a school lunch? Or that frozen ready meals aren't crap? And since when can parents not just say no to kids? It's called parenting.... You're the one buying the food. My parents managed it, cos they raised me not to be a screeching little melt and I understood that the family ate the same food and sweets etc were sometimes the foods.
Sadly, you'd be amazed what some kids have in their lunch boxes 😔

I probably wouldn't, but I don't think that's cos they think it's healthy. They probably eat crap too and think "ah sure I'm grand". She acts like people are stupid. They're really not, they're just indifferent in many cases.

Yes I agree with you on all of that! But things have changed in supermarkets and shops, thats how our parents managed it too!! when I was younger we did get treats, but was limited, because it wasn't really available to buy. Now there are aisles and aisles of crap basically! I didnt have that as a child. My mother could take us shopping and avoid the very processed sh!t, Grand if you could go into a supermarket have one aisle for sweets, chocolates, etc but they are scattered all over supermarkets now. Everywhere you turn theres a stand with promoting something crap. I thought sweet free checkouts were meant to be a thing now?? Any checkout I go to theres sweets available.
And l know alot of what she's saying is abit over the top, but look something has to be said too. I cant see any politician saying anything about it. The xmas sweets are out. The 5 Easter eggs for €5 will prob be out 26th Dec
The government brought in this sugar tax, where exactly is that money going? Because kids sports activities, like swim lessons, gymnastics, Cúl camps etc are gone through the roof. I cant see the sugar tax money gone on anything beneficial for children

I actually know a person who won’t eat normal foods because she follows her. Reads all the labels etc. It’s scary the influence these people have.

Ah no I definitely agree that food marketing has gone completely OTT and action needs to be taken to support everyone make better choices.

At the same time, kids don't know what Nutella is unless their parents give it to them. They don't ask for cookie crunch cereal if they know breakfast to be eggs or porridge etc. I genuinely would never have realised that people have pizza for dinner on a regular basis. I've no sympathy for parents who are like "my little antichrist child will only eat a frozen pizza for dinner" or I have to cook 4 different options to cater to my bratty children's demands.

We are a product of our environment, but that environment starts in the home.

All you have to do is read the comment sections. Sophie I buy this product....is it ok?? And even worse "is it safe?"

She is frightening people into thinking that our food is not safe.

David R Grimes is again reaffirming that she’s not a dietitian, spreads harmful misinformation and even if a doctor features her on a podcast it doesn’t change these facts. Doctors are not dietitian's and Sophie is neither doctor nor dietitian!!!

No shes not a dietitian, but she has studied nutrition. I've kind of changed my mind on her, I guess I'm saying she has life skills, her kookie dough buisness was very successful so she has experience in the food industry etc. I know a nutritionist who a neighbour at home and cant cook!! So sometimes having a qualified title isnt the be all and end all.

David r grimes rightly so called out the happy pear too when they claimed that diet can reduce breast cancer. They made a half arsed apology video, And those 2 mats are still going stronger than ever loads of people lining their pockets 😡
I dont think shes once made any health claims, mentioned eating this is good for xyz, nothing about obesity, nothing along those lines

From what i see she charges for an online course and her book. She got a car, is that about it in terms of gifts/collabs ? She could make a killing online!! Shes pretty, shes slim, her hair is really nice! I'm sure shes been approached by hundreds of buisneses for promotion of their products, but she just sticks to what she does and provides information, people can take that information or leave it. to be honest I was never really one for looking at ingredients, more so a glance at amount of calories. But i do give a look now and when I see more than 3 rows of ingredients on something, I put it back!

Right so ...

"she has studied nutrition"
She has done 2 ten week courses online, 1 evening a week at a cost of €795. That's not studying nutrition. Note she doesn't even list either on her website cos she knows they're Dr Nick level of BS.

Anyone who can read can cook.

She charges for hormone coaching and an upf reset both utter nonsense and preying on people's vulnerability and ignorance. Con artistry and quack 101.

She looks old for 41 tbh. She's slim ish. And that's not her hair. So....

What harm is that 4th row of ingredient going to do you? Her rationale is anti scientific and she hasn't made health claims because she doesn't have a clue what she's talking about. What you have just set out is exactly why she's harmful.

I've said it before and I'll say it again her skin and hair do not look good for someone of her age and supposed health conscious. I know on tattle people say this all the time about people and it's not true like saying 30 years look 50 and they really don't but in Sophies case it's true.

She's an absolute grifter, but she's obviously successful with the 'terminally incurious' cohort.

Maybe too its beacause shes not using filters like the majority of women 'influencers' we see on Instagram. When people see them in real life they hardly recognise them, some people do age abit quicker and dont head for botox and fillers, Either way, i wouldn't mind looking like this at 41, but I think my bikini days are well and truly gone and back in the past when I was in my early 20's before children, never to be seen again 👙🙈😆

Don’t care what she looks like it’s the harm she’s doing spouting her nonsense that bothers me. Dietitians should start doing what she’s doing (with correct info) and maybe more people would listen to them and show up these charlatans

Exactly. It's always depressing that when dietitians post videos explaining why Sophie's information is wrong on specific items, they get so little traction. Facts don't seem sexy enough.

And they're regularly accused of 'tearing women down' and how we should be 'lifting each other up', as if people should apologise for applying critical thinking skills and good judgement when looking at videos of a blonde maniac shouting into her phone and shaming people in Lidl.

She always seems so panicky and anxious about an emulsifier. In the overall context of what people are eating and drinking, these items just aren't problematic.
