So she's got a car and those sitting room units for free (except for the price of painting the units?) Ffs. And then implying that Marks and Spencer's have changed their cereal packaging because of her?? She's the biggest pain in the a going.
Did she get a sponsored car ? That’s mental. If she was so dedicated to being a martyr she would not be accepting things like this. Now I know a free car, wow but if she was in it just for good intentions you’d say no. That’s not what I am about.

She never explains what is actually wrong with the "bad" ingredients, obviously less sugar salt etc but are any of them actually proven to be harmful she never references a study or anything factual.

She’s now claiming aldi are listening to her about the croissants. Those croissants have been in store since way before Christmas. They are lovely but you get 4 in a bag for about 3.80. You get 8 of the plain ones (probably with palm oil) for the same price.

sophie is running out of material, don’t buy the graphic import from china, it’s come a long way and they spray it with chemicals that aren’t allowed in europe. (what chemicals and what levels are dangerous for humans?) buy the one from spain. cleverly hidden the prices aswell

considering its for the EU market and the tiny amount most would consume a clove or two in a meal for 4 what exactly is dangerous, wouldn't French or even Irish grown garlic be as good as spanish?

She drives me mad! Showing which Easter eggs are "good" due to sugar content and whether they contain palm oil. Of course an Easter egg has sugar and lots of it that's why they taste good! She never focuses on taste it's always price and what they contain. Mentioning palm oil too is just unnecessary. Food is supposed to be about joy not stress looking at the ingredients. I'm wondering will she be given a legal case soon against certain companies as what she says can literally ruin a business. She is saying to avoid cadburys eggs because of palm oil - cadburys could in theory have a case against her sweeping statements. If you call her out in comments people turn on you it's so strange

Plus the eggs she’s recommending are not in the 4 for a tenner bracket! You’d be lucky if you got one for 15e!

In fairness, Irish farmers have made ads about this very issue as the use of palm oil directly influences the amount of milk required and has an impact on milk prices. Can't remember was if IFA, the Dairy Council or some other body.

She looks deranged wandering around the supermarkets scaremongering people that are simply trying to make the best choices for their families within their budget. I'd say it's a barrel of laughs at dinner time in her house 🙄!

Dr Oetker is a German company. It's absolutely ridiculous of her to imply that they are listening to her and making changes. And those idiots congratulating her, Jesus Christ - fools. Sophie doesn't ever take into consideration that people are struggling to pay their food bills. Her alternative products are almost always niche brands that are more expensive. And those Easter eggs she recommended? Those are aimed at the adult market. €12 plus for an egg? For kids? She's bleeping deluded. Easter comes around once a year, enjoy the cheap Easter eggs folks. Also in terms of food production, we have strict governance here compared to the likes of America. She should explain why an ingredient might not be healthy and also how much of it you would need to consume before it would actually impact on your health.

i was thinking about the pizzas that a product takes months of development they hardly went into the kitchen and said there’s an Irish woman giving out we better do better. The comments under her reels are nauseating

It’s not as if she’s any way qualified to tell people what’s better for them to eat. Why do people like her get big followings?

From talking to others, she is being lauded in Slimming World groups up and down the country by members and leaders alike, saying she is "a dietitian and knows what she's talking about". It's the blind leading the blind.

It's so strange. Like people will believe those kinds of eejits but won't when it comes to qualified dieticians/doctors/scientists etc!

I’m so glad to have found a thread on this one. She is absolutely painful. And her obsession with ingredients and ultra processed foods is just another form of disordered eating disguised as a trend. She has zero qualifications in nutrition and food science yet people follow her blindly and bankrupt themselves trying to buy what she recommends. Yes, less processed foods are better for our bodies but the obsession with them is not better for people’s minds, pockets or family life. We all do our best with what we have and don’t need Saint Sophie preaching from the aisles of the supermarket telling us we are poisoning our children.
