I've had it a few times but nobody I know or who I've ever spoken to has experienced it.

I used to get it all the time when I still lived with my mam & dad (I moved out 5 years ago) where a woman as dragging me off my bed and sat on top of me and I couldn't move.

I got it once in my first rented house when I was napping on the settee, my ex was at work so I was home alone and it sounded like someone was trying to break in. When I came around it was badly raining & very windy

In my second rented house, I never experienced it until my ex and I split up and he moved out. It was the woman coming back from my parents to sit on top of me

I am now in a flat I rent and have had it a couple times. Again, I could hear someone trying to break in but I was paralyzed and shouting for help but it was more of a whisper, when I eventually snapped out of it I shouted louder and could hear my voice echoing.

I got it last week, the cat was laying on the end of my bed when I fell asleep. I woke up to a cat? On top of me and another cat at my toes dropping something on it, I snapped out of it but the cat was sound asleep and nowhere near me lol

I only seem to get it when I am not sharing a bed with someone? Does anyone else find this?
I’ve had paralysis and woken up to a feeling of someone sucking my toes.

It’s curious so many people have visions of the old hag. There seems to be no logical explanation behind it either.

Had it again when staying in little ones room due to being scared and not sleeping well. I looked at the night camrea nothing to be seen. Thought I be acting strange. But no. Was scary has I nightmare I was doing something to my partner I fully woke up ran into him asked if he was okay did I just do anything he said it's just another nightmare n he said he sleep in little ones room, so I can stop having this happening to me.. I get it more when I'm very tired.

It happened again. Was stresses out. Thought my mum went to the bathroom and was pulling my bed cover off I went to the door but she didn't have it. The cover was on the floor in a different place.

I woke up in a shock. Got up to check my mum sound asleep. Bathroom light off and not on.

In morning asked her about it. Nothing happened her end of the room going to the bathroom. I freaking wished my camrea in my room was working as I have bad nights so seeing it helps me incase I need to see asleep specialist.

I get sleep paralysis too, intermittently over the years. I never sleep on my back and get it when I'm fast asleep on my front.

It feels like someone is pressing down on my back so I can't move and there's always something/someone scary in the doorway approaching me.

I believe it's when my brain wakes up from a deep sleep before my body so to pull myself out of it I've trained myself to focus on moving one bit of my body, usually my little finger, and that seems to work.

Such a scary feeling. Quite reassuring to read it's not just me

I've experienced this as well, it is scary. I feel as though something is clinging to my back with its hands holding on around my chest. Not quite awake and not asleep but unable to move. Another time I felt as though something was entering inside me through my ear. It started as a solid, twisted around into an swirling mass and in through the ear. It happened once while in hospital. The person in the next bed said I was making struggling noises. To me I thought I was being mugged by a demon. As horrid as it is I don't think it lasts very long.

I get sleep paralysis quite often, I've only ever had an auditory hallucination once and felt like someone was touching me once, mostly I just can't move and everything is dark. I thought I was dying the first time it happened! My triggers are stress and sleeping on my back, so I try to avoid stress (impossible) and never sleep on my back anymore :)

If you're aware you're having an episode, try to count in your head, I heard you can't count in your sleep so it helps wake you up. Or try and wiggle toes and fingers to slowly wake the body up. Those two things help me

Same! I’d never even heard of sleep paralysis! Then I was reading a forum a couple of years later and someone described the exact same thing that I had, my heart dropped!
this is my demon 🤣 (but was more of a faceless man, but I imagine I was sleeping like that 🤣🤣)
This is basically what I saw. She had long black hair!

Yrah exactly.
I was told before that it's because half your brain is awake and half is still dreaming. So you're aware of your surroundings ect. But you're basically hallucinating.

I remember as a teenager, I had 2 friends sleepover. One of them slept over frequently.
And I could see them laying there on the bed asleep but I was determined someone was knocking on the door. So I was trying to get dressed.
And I remember hearing one friend say "Oh don't worry, she does this all the time"
As I got older, it has slowly stopped happening but it happened from when I was around 6 or 7 up until mid 20s.
If there was a change in my surroundings, that would make it more likely to happen.
Like my friends staying over. Being in a different place ect.

I've always been a very big dreamer. And remember them all too. So I'm 100% aware when it's a dream or not.
But that feels 100% real because I can see my surroundings. It doesn't feel like a dream at all.
I get like that as well, am aware it's a dream even though everything feels so real, the only reason I know it's a dream is because everything is too perfect, dreams cannot make little imperfections so like pavements won't have cracks in them, walls won't have marks etc, so even though my senses are there an it feels an looks real I know it's not

I always remember the time I was cutting out junk food an I dreamt I binged on Easter eggs, woke up feeling incredibly sick because I had tasted the chocolate an whoa did I eat A LOT in that dream 😂😂

That's exactly what she's like, she doesn't realise its a dream until she's woken up an realises it was a dream, to her it was just as real as reality, unlike me I am fully aware am in a dream (unless it's a nightmare an fear takes over senses) but for the most part I can tell the difference between dreams an reality an which one am in at the time

I used to get it fairly often along with false awakenings and lucid dreams. Usually if I'd been doing something quite mentally stimulating before I went to sleep like suduko or something 🤣 not had it in a long time and I'm so glad I never have hallucinations but its a right pain when yoire lying there just wanting to get up but you can't move 🤣

This has only happened to me once in my life years and years ago. I woke up and couldn’t move or make a sound. It was absolutely terrifying and probably only lasted about 5 seconds but felt like hours with the amount of thoughts that races through my head.
At the time I remember hoping somebody will come look for me (I lived alone).
Anyway I googled it and it’s to do with waking up but your brain not quite caught up.
Perfectly “normal”

I used to get this fairly frequently when I lived at my mums, but not seeing figures. It was more I would be awake but couldnt move or open my eyes properly. It would also feel like j couldnt breathe. I would relax and stop trying to move and then try again. Usually after about 3 times of doing that I would be able to move again! Just awful

It's crazy. I totally freaked myself when I googled it and the image was exactly what I saw
