Hey guys I’m not at all bothered about my BMI because I am living differently and my weight doesn’t matter to me, even though I religiously monitor it in a spreadsheet every week. Anyway to show how much I’m not thinking about my weight I weighed myself and went to the trouble of calculating my BMI. Now obviously I’m not bothered about it at all saying I’m overweight, even though I admit that put me in a bad mood, but I just want to let other women who bother about their weight to know that if you watch my IGTV or swipe up and join the wait list for the furnace you too can learn how to pretend to not bother about your weight!! I’m just planning to get right back on 5 days of hard core workouts next week to get my BMI back down, and then sure I’ll probably overindulge at the weekend and it’ll creep up again but then there’s always mon-thurs to starve myself and exercise to excess. If you calculate the binge and restrict cycle over the week it’s #EverythingInModeration

So in the one video (yes, I watched it for my sins) she said that wants to monetise her YouTube channel and asked people to play it in the background just for the stats.

Literally two minutes later she was asked about what she'd tell her 25 year old self and she said "don't chase the money, chase the happiness". Is this one for fucking real? Zero effort in the video, crappy inarticulate clips shoehorned into a video, contradictions, saliva sucking, smelly hair. Good luck monetising that! I think her "higher self" might have got on the plane yesterday cos there's no sign of her anymore.

This pisses me off, as a qualified, professional woman I have a responsibility to knock this nonsense on the head. Getting qualifications and embarking on a professional career to earn decent money gives you independence and that can lead to happiness. I have a good job, through which I have been able to buy my own property, travel widely and be financially secure. This does bring me happiness (helps that I enjoy my job). Many of my friends are in the same situation, they have worked hard, they have worked through the tough days but in balance it was worth it.

Happiness isn’t always found leaching of a poor country in a beach bar with a load of other self up indulgent wanderlust types! I loathe that young girls are being influenced that this is the way to be happy.

We appear to be living in a society where happiness is always the goal; buy these clothes, this protein powder, these flights, these drinks, this food, these cleaning products, these sofas etc etc It will make you happy!
It is all aimed at women, nobody is telling blokes to abandon careers for happiness.

Emotions are a natural occurrence, everyone has up days and down days. Life isn’t a bloody rainbow of joy. There are lots of different ways to live life but I feel that women really aren’t taught to have career goals and financial independence, this ‘living differently idiot’ is all about a short term high rather than investing in a long term goal!

Why was she coming back to Ireland?

Several reasons: to get free hair extensions, to get free facials, to get free gym gear and supplements (its soooo hard to get stuff delivered in bali don’t you know, someone has to pay the import fees), to eat free prepared meals, to scrounge off the struggling restaurant industry, to pay €€ to live 30 mins from her home home, mams rocky road, to remind us that she knows what gaa is, to give out about the rain (but it’s ok if it rains in bali), to reach out for random collabs so she doesn’t have to pay for anything, and finally...to get the vaccine.

Where do ya start I've been holding this in!

The lack of sunscreen & burnt skin is haunting! She does know skin cancer is the most popular type of cancer! She is scalded!

The shorts, maybe she's like me i have a pair of topshop jeans that i LOVE. When I'm inflamed or swollen they are uncomfortable so I've pair in an 6 & a 10! I wear them & no one else knows! I do not wear the size 10 and hold them out claiming all the weight I've lost! I'm also not a "fitness influencer" which an impressional audience i am selling programmes too!

Her dancing! Reminds me of when you're locked on a hen and you start doing the macrana!! Laugh the next day or how stupid you were and then don't do it or talk about it for another 3 years!! SOH on the other hand it's every weekend! The eye rolls of others in that video!

The myprotein swipe ups! She fails to mention ALOT is being held up in customs! Some people waiting since Christmas on packages!!

Her underlining of book and "living without restrictions", it's comicial and i think we all can only laugh at this stage. The whole world is in lockdown and she simply refuses to abid by rules. Out socialising ( which i appreciate is allowed where she is) in the wake of longer level 5 restrictions being announcement in Ireland and

Go away on your holiday and enjoy yourself, there's no need for it all to be posted online and if you want to post it -post it to your mates whatsapp group or privatize your instagram. have a bit if decency, common sense and respect. You know when you go on your leaving cert holiday or college holidays with the girls, there's always that clingon thats in the bar or the restaurant your eating in. That some how manages to get into the group or get talking to someone in your group. They talk about how they Left ireland all those years ago.....had to get away from the rat race....maybe a family bearvement....or didn't want to conform to society pressures.... Wanted to live differently. And each time a new group comes they cling into them have a few drinks and tell their story and move onto the next group.

No Bali or Indo is not - but if she is flying with Emirates like she normally does, then its highly likely that she will transit through Dubai.
She would then need to go to mandatory hotel quarantine - even if she does not get off the plane, as the UAE is on the restricted list for Ireland.

Hotel quarantine won’t bother her as it’s not much different to her real life. Shiteing around in a small space and getting food delivered.

The mature adult response to the person saying "ireland has a food culture" would be "you know you're completely right i forgot about stews and coddil! SIobh had only planned to stay there from Oct to April as she had a return flight booked for the 1st April. Beg had only planned on being there from Feb (was that when she went over?) to April as she had a flight booked home around this time too. They both briefly mentioned it on their stories and Siobh mentioned it in one of her vlogs. They both mentioned coming back to Ireland as they were looking for validation/approval from people online. They were looking to be re-assured that it was ok to travel during a global pandemic.....

In reality we all know that these places aren't "home". They are just cheap sunny places that you can spend a few months in before flying back to Ireland. They can get some good pictures for the gram and life long sun damage as a bonus. None of them 'live differently', they just go on an extended sun holiday. They are able to spend that long there as it is so cheap. It's all smoke and mirrors just like the Oven waiting list.

They like to think of themselves as being like the characters in 'The Beach'. (Siobhan is Sal and the Beg is Daffy).

There are two reasons why they call these places "home" and it really started when they were all tying to get back when the Bali borders were closed;

1. It makes them seems unique and exotic and that they are living some type of alternative hippy lifestyle on a tropical beach somewhere.
2. They used it as their excuse to travel during a pandemic. How could anyone be annoyed/angry with them for travelling when they were just trying to get home....cue the smallest violin in the world playing the saddest song.

The 2nd point above is the MAIN reason they call it home.

I think the reality of Bali has shocked them in the last few months.

1. The locals are really suffering now that tourism has dried up. That would be hard for anyone to see on a day to day basis no matter how much you try and ignore it
2. It's no longer the fun place it was in pre-covid times as a lot of the bars are closed, close early or are empty
3. From looking at the instagrams of others based in Bali there seems to be an increase in bikes and helmets getting stolen
4. Siobh is locked into a lease at pre-covid prices
5. The majority of villas that most visitors live in aren't built to be lived in during the rainy season. They aren't all water proof under some of the more extreme rain falls
6. The majority of the villas have outdoor living which doesn't seem very comfortable in the rainy season and it provides little protection from insects and lizards

Watched the Vlog to find out the reasons she wants to go home, she says it’s just because she misses her family but then says she doesn’t know what to do and that she is in paradise!

She has been totally sold the ‘Instagram beach lifestyle goal’. She is clearly living to make others jealous but deep down isn’t happy. It doesn’t matter where you are in the world, how pretty your surroundings are, how cheap the food is, how boozy your nights out are if you aren’t happy you aren’t happy.

I can relate to this because I spent 18 month travelling and working abroad in my 20’s. I lived that lifestyle, read books, made new friends, ate, travelled, took the photos but I did it all before Instagram so when I had had enough I came home. I was able to make that decision because I didn’t have anything to prove to anyone or a lifestyle to sell. I went back to study, got a decent job...house, reliable friends, hobbies, relationship...etc etc.

I feel quite sorry for this generation who clearly live for the gram and their image. They genuinely can’t make an honest decision without thinking about what it looks like.
Growing up and settling down isn’t the dull existence that she thinks it is.

I love living close to my family and friends, I love the security of a decent job and the privacy of making decisions without splashing it over social media. Obviously without COVID I can still travel and see new places but coming home to my life is great too.

Watching her flog, I feel quite sorry for her. Sitting on a pretty beach watching sunrise is still lonely even if you think that you are in the most beautiful place and try to suppress those feelings.

This I lost my mam to covid a few weeks ago. So seeing people like this openly flaunt the fact that they dont give a shit. Shiv, if she had it, only has to give it to one person who it effects detrimentally. It's like Covid doesnt exist over there.
