Guys I hate my Job. I need to tell my managers where to bleeping go.

I want to be there to take my kids to school and be there to collect them at the end of the day. I don't care about a career and working my way up. I just want to enjoy this time whilst I can.

But I need money! Tell me about your working from home side hustles... surveys, pyramid schemes, sex chatlines (are they even still a thing)

Please help me leave my job!! 😆

I do online tutoring with a couple of agencies. I tutor the subject I did my degree in, over zoom, generally for gcse/a-level students so it’s nothing too taxing. Money can be ok, I usually get around £25/hr.

I too hate my job and would love a side hussle.

I saw a comedian on Tiktok doing a sketch about making money on Onlyfans by squishing her toes in baked beans. This sounds like the kind of thing I could do. Does anybody know how to advertise yourself on onlyfools - sorry onlyfans 😀😀😀

I'll have a look here for some sensible suggestions 👍👍👍

I'll be completely honest with you:

There are sites where you can freelance (Google 'freelancing sites') BUT you're up against about 10,000 other people all wanting to do the same thing and tendering for the same jobs (especially since Covid hit - people are really desperate to work from home). Even more specialised roles get applicants who will put their hand up for everything and it's bloody hard to get your foot in the door. And until you build up a reputation (100% positive feedback) - which can take years to achieve, you'll be working for absolute peanuts (after you've built up a reputation, the clients start coming to you, which makes it worthwhile). When I first started, I spent a whole month of 18-hour days working on something, for which I got paid US$1k, less the freelancing site fee, less the PayPal transfer fee ... I was left with just a few hundred dollars. Alternatively, you could advertise your specialty locally via letterbox drop or similar.

If you don't have a particular skill, your best bet is to find something that nobody likes doing - ironing, cleaning, rubbish removal, decluttering ... but it isn't going to give you a great income (not at first, anyway). If you go down the cleaning route, do private homes rather than commercial premises ... and you might even be able to suggest other ways to help (e.g., meal preparation, shopping, etc.).

I had a friend who did telephone sex work - she has a very sexy voice. But that was in the '90s and I don't even know if it's a thing anymore.

Only Fans isn't worth risking your reputation and self-respect for - besides, most of the content gets uploaded to sites like Reddit for free.

If you're really good at something schoolkids need help with, you could advertise yourself as a private tutor ... my godson has a maths tutor who charges NZ$80/hr ... the tutor is a university student and it's a nice little earner for him.

Steer clear of MLMs!

Set up social media accounts and a website and if you're creative make either natural candles or soap or seasonal wreaths, you can make them all year round, summer ones are beautiful and these things are really popular at and you can make a lot of money with little outlay and do it from home.

Are you a particularly crafty/artsy type of person? Could you start making things to sell on sites like Etsy? My boyfriends little sister is only 16, but she's amazing at drawing/craft etc. She started selling bits on Etsy around October time and has made about £300!

I'm also gonna keep an eye on this thread for some ideas though as I could do with the cash!

I have YouGov going and I’m about 400 points away from getting £50. It’s taken me at least 3 years, and that’s with doing every single survey they send!! Extremely slow burn and nothing worth quitting your job for. I’m looking to renovate my house this year and I’m learning how to design renovation guides to sell on Etsy. I follow #sidehustles on Insta and it keeps me motivated! Loads of people re-sell on eBay, something easy you can do but again you have to seriously commit with sourcing, storing, packaging, and have an eye for rare or vintage items that will sell. I saw one woman make £18k a year from eBay whilst being a stay at home Mum but you should have seen the bags and boxes piled up around her house 😂 Not worth it in my opinion

It’s not a career but handy for a bit of extra money - I do product testing. Mostly at home, but the agency I’m with do a lot of on-premises testing too that I don’t put myself forward for.
Its all paid in vouchers rather than cash, so it’s a nice little earner for a bit of pocket money

That’s a hobby. A full time parent couldn’t survive doing that.

It was just a suggestion. I'm not saying anyone could survive off £300 in 3 months, I think it's fairly obvious that's not sustainable as a sole income.. but it's a way to make extra money on the side! And I think you'll find there are people out there who do make a full time income selling their crafts/artwork.

I think if somebody thinks they can walk out of a full time job and find a side hustle to fund their life, they're dreaming a bit, all of us would be doing it if we could!

You are searching for the proverbial moon on a stick with this I think….! If something was easily available that allowed people to work 6 hours a day Monday to Friday and paid good money then everyone would already be doing it!
you are very unlikely to find something you can leave your current job for, walk into and start making loads of money for a few hours a day…. Unless you go down the route of sex work which im
Not even going to comment on here.

something to supplement your income like money for doing peoples laundry/ironing/cleaning/dog walking etc or look for companies offering work from home jobs (Apple were doing a huge recruitment drive last year for customer service reps to work from home, the salary was good plus they provided the Apple computers etc all for free)

Try local authority if UK based. Flexitime, work from home, generous holidays.

I get a reliable trickle of money coming in selling stuff on Vinted. Its not a replacement for a job, it's a pretty slow process to actually get the money into my vinted balance and then out again into my bank account, but i've been selling a few items each week since November, have made about £200 total so far. It helps that I do have a lot of stuff i'm trying to get rid of. Currently selling clothes then will move onto books and misc stuff - people will buy all sorts on there. I like Vinted as its a very simple platform to use.

I've put loads of things on Vinted, so far I keep getting excited when I get a notification then it's just someone adding my item to their favourites 😅 Do you find people tend to favourite things for a week or so before eventually buying them, or do they just favourite and never think of it again? 😂

Lol yes I get that too! And i guess its about 50/50 people will favourite and think about it and people who favourite and never come back. I find it helps to put up new items in the evenings and at weekends when people aren't working as they will get much more traffic than any other time. Now i've built up a good amount of 5 star reviews i'm starting to get people who follow me so they get updates when i post new items, so it pays off to keep using it!

just found this! Thinking of selling seasonal things, I absolutely love autumn and Halloween so was thinking of maybe making things around that throughout the year and selling them. My friend makes ceramics and she is incredible talented. I won’t be able to do that but maybe I could make little things and enjoy myself at the same time.
