One of my cats pukes a lot but that's been going on for ages and i think is cause some days he's just too greedy and has way too many treats and then usual food on top of that and eats too fast swallowing his food whole. I've never checked it out with the vet, feel like a bad owner now 😅
Mine is, I think, going down this route because the steroids are making her hungrier. When she realised some biscuits had been put out for her today she absolutely wolfed them down, same yesterday when she was given some. We might have to give her half as many twice as often. She’s a tiny furry nightmare.

Speaking of older big ginger cats, here's 10 year old Loki, also gone off his food recently. He's been to the vet and a clean bill of health was given. I have a sneaking suspicion he's popping into Auntie Joan and Uncle Barry's greenhouse and scoffing their cat Bootsie's left overs which are put out for the hedgehogs... greedy little git 😸😜.

Well,

Jimmy finally did a poo overnight with a large furry 'cigar' in it. He's back to hoovering up his food again so hopefully, we're all grand until next time.

He says to thank everyone for their concern. Or would do if he wasn't fast asleep.

Oh wow cheeky 😅

I'll give it to my cats, they've been pretty good with the litter tray so far. One time i cleaned it out and forgot to put new litter in till the next day 😱 one of the cats was running about acring weird and asking to be let into the bathroom so he can poop in the bathtub 😅 that's his place of choice the few times he went outside of the tray
She has a habit of urinating on things that are in the wrong place or something is messy. Makes me be tidier at least usually it's clothing or a towel so easier to clean

That's hilariously passive aggressive "clean up now" . My little girl likes having a totally clean litter tray so she miaows as soon as she's gone to the bathroom so I can clean it immediately 😅

My other cat will go in the litter tray regardless if there is litter in it. Once I was emptying and disinfecting them all and was just about to fill it back up and she came in and just went in the empty box

My Boss #1 is a former feral cat. Feral cats need to hide their scent while they are living in the wild, so they shovel a lot to cover their business. She is about 2 & half yrs old now & has been with us for 5 months, she was in foster/medical care for maybe 4 months before she came to us. So she was surviving outside most of her life. She has in past couple days made major shift & seems way more settled. It's been great. But she still shovels the litter non stop after she goes, we have timed her & she was at it about 40 mins before we just gave up & scooped it for her. So now when we hear her going litter we just scoop it straight away. I don't know if this habit will ever change.

I'm so glad you have her now. When I was able to work I donated monthly to trap-and-spay program to help control feral cats. I wish I could still donate as it's something I care deeply about.
Unlike my old dad (my stepdad) who puts out Hills Science Diet biscuits every day for the feral cats. He even has an old cat tower outside and seats under the verandah for them to sit on when it's raining.

Awwwww bless your step dad❤That’s why I’m such a supporter of Celia Hammond, she spent her life saving feral cats out for hours, then later she set up CHAT,when London did a massive clearance to build the massive Olympic stadium, there was lot of feral cats, she and her workers of chat saved 100 cats.❤

That's incredible work!
As for my stepdad, he's the best. Truly a good and decent man. He's been in my life since I was 16 and he absolutely adored my mum who was also a crazy cat person. ❤ 🐾

Big (not so large) ginger cat update:

His appetite is still down, but he's managing about 1 1/2 - 2 wet food pouches over the day. It's not what he used to be like, but I have noticed over the past year he's began to leave more and more in his bowl.

I'm still having to coax him into eating a bit - although he did slap me awake at 5:30 this morning for a couple of mouthfuls. I'm still worrying my socks off, but trying to calm myself that this isn't a crisis.

I'm off on holiday for 10 days now but the pet sitter knows him very well and stays in my home, so fingers crossed he'll perk back up when he sees her!

BTW - if anyone has any tips for encouraging a cat's appetite (especially a spoiled one, who gets all the wet food in the world anyway) - or tips to help cat weight gain - I'd be grateful.

When my old cat wasnt eating the vet recommended me to try him on tuna in spring water. He was so fussy but he loved a tin of tuna, even a small amount to see it he ate it.

In other news my boyfriend and I bought fish and cleo is fasinated by them 🤣 it's her very own TV!

When In was younger, we had 2 cats & my father had a big fish tank in the sitting room. One day he was cleaning the fish tank. I'm not totally sure how, but our big (he was choncky) orange cat (sisters cat) fell into the fish tank!!!!! He was ok, although he did get everywhere soaking wet, as was he of course 😹 I think the fish were ok.

Another time, my cat, a calico, was looking into the pond in our garden which had fish in it. Both loved to do that & they just watched, no fish harmed. But somehow she just slipped and fell into the pond! Again she was fine & got out herself, just soaking wet and embarrassed. It was funny timing bc both me and my sister were watching her from the kitchen when it happened 😹 I wonder if that happened more while we weren't looking.

Did they do that thing of quickly stopping to wash themselves they apparently do when embarrassed? 😅
