Couldn’t find a thread for this, has anyone ever been involved in building a house? Whether that’s through work or personal, or even from the finance or trades side, would love to hear about the joys and the pitfalls in a project like this!

I dream about one day building my own home and Instagram makes it look so easy 🥹

Ever watched Grand Designs? That might temper the Instagram view of things.

I have watched a few episodes but they all seem to be quite elaborate projects, are there pitfalls to the more basic flat pack designs too?
