Daily mail now bringing up Moyles dubious past re Charlotte Church
I used to love Chris moyles. My more enlightened friends would tell me he was misogynist etc and I remember thinking - don’t spoil it for me! He get let go just in time IMO. His ego was out of control.

Chris Moyles was definitely misogynist BUT he was also the only one on bbc radio who refused to play Chris Brown and give him air time so I did rate him for that.

Just for clarity I was talking about Noel Edmonds.
Just for clarity, the cling film bloke is the bloke his wife was having an affair with! Nothing to do with Noel. The misinformation which gets perpetuated is insane.

I hate that I had to read this.

Oh interesting. I was told that by someone who worked with him on a project. I also briefly worked with him and from my experience completely believed it so surprised to learn I had it wrong.

I hope they also bring up the tabloids treatment of Charlotte as a child.
Quite. It's like when the daily mail is calling tattle the most horrific site despite their own comments sections having worse and their journalists and photographers actually harass these people in real life unlike tattlers that comment on what they share. The hypocrisy.

Did he wrap you in cling film? 🫣

I bet he isn't a nice person but I do feel sorry for him having his love rival's peccadilloes mooted as his own! The first time I tried googling it without the name though I was lost. I recommend NOBODY do that.

Oh god I can’t believe you didn‘t know!
I think he avoided full and furious cancellation by being dead.
His family were saddened but ultimately relieved by his untimely and sudden death. He did some shameful things, quite openly. 🤢🤢🤢🤢

Chris Moyles and Charlotte Church, but also Chris Evans and Billie Piper. He bought her a Ferrari and sent it to her house when she was only 17. They got married when she was 18 and he was 35. Something about DJs and younger people, its repulsive

As I've said before, there's not many in or adjacent to the music industry where it would massively surprise me if stuff came out about them.

The thing with Chris and Billie is quite odd. She always says marrying him and the party lifestyle they had saved her after becoming so famous so young. The fact that they are still best friends and godparents to each others kids obviously doesn't signpost to her thinking she was groomed.

Not meaning that is was right by any means, but if Billie was happy with the way things were then so be it. It was probably better than being married to Laurence Fox 😕

It's not surprise he's getting plenty of support and the bosses aren't well liked. This isn't like other cases where floodgates opened. It's one person. It could be someone who wanted a job that Scott said no to and went for revenge. It could be literally anything.

Well that’s nice I guess. It was still weird though. But maybe her parents weren't the best and he was more like a father figure to her. It's nice they get on so well now. Anything has to be better than Laurence Fox. I like Billie but she has terrible taste in men.

It sounds like all those ‘sources’ know as little as the rest of us. Being angry at BBC bosses without knowing what information they had. Funny how Scott isn’t telling his friends what it was, isn’t it? If it’s all over ‘nothing’?

I really dislike the below - it’s suggesting that his friend thinks the allegation is unlikely to be true because nobody else has come forward? That’s a really damaging mindset to have. That because there is only one victim, the allegation is less credible or severe? No floodgates, no problem?

While it’s obviously not known if the circumstances are in any way comparable, friends of Mills are quick to point out that when Edwards’ behaviour was exposed, there were others who came forward to tell of their own experiences at the hands of the star. ‘But with Scott, there has been nothing, nobody else has come forward,’ says the friend. There are no more claims of any bad or creepy behaviour.
‘With Huw, the floodgates really opened, but this hasn’t been the case with Scott.’

I don't think it's that her parents weren't the best, I think it's more the fact she was swept away to have a pop career at such a young age and they were probably tied to her younger sisters at home in Swindon, miles away. It was before the days of social media and having constant access to a mobile phone. You're right, maybe he made her feel safe in the midst of the world of stardom, especially after the abuse she'd suffered at the hands of 5ive fans whilst dating Ritchie, which was awful. I remember seeing her perform at the Smash Hits tour that 5ive headlined and you couldn't hear her above the boos - it was disgusting.
