oh you mean the bit that GrunkaLunka quoted, I read that different as not being his definite age but going by the known facts which are Teenager Under 16. Which could be 13 or could be 15. The prolonged period matters because the age of consent was 18.
So if he was 13 or 15 he'd still be under age for the whole period
I think that's one of the first articles to have worded it like that. Other's have just said under 16 or said he could have been aged between 13 and 16 which I assumed was simply because under 13 is a different category within the same section and would be worded as a child under 13.
It could simply be a coincidence that both ages and time period are three years but it has made me wonder.
They were also still in touch for several years after that period of time (but prior to the initial allegation being made).
I've found the way it has all been reported to be a bit all over the place. Almost like reporters are playing catch up and putting the pieces together as they go. Similar reports in the past, about other people, have seemed better planned, in that they've got all of the information before they go to print.
I really feel for the poor man at the heart of this. He's probably feeling like his identity could be revealed at any point. He might be married with a family and worried about the impact on them.
I've tried to keep in mind that Mills might not be guilty of anything, particularly given the pressures of any investigations during that period of time but it's quite difficult to maintain that in the face of the allegations that were made and the fact a file was sent to the CPS.
