Tbh I just don't understand why you'd throw any kitchen utensils at each other.....I mean, I could understand a tea towel or something like that, cos I've done that myself...but I'd never throw tongs or spatulas or knives at anyone the story makes literally no sense, and I would not stand by and support my daughters dad if he had done that even if it was "an accident" as he thought he was throwing another utensil at her.
I don't even believe that's what happened though tbh, I think he's stabbed her deliberately or went to stab the mother and the girl has got in the way but they think he will get off with it if they make it seem like a play fight got wrong.

But again...WHO PLAY FIGHTS WITH ACTUAL UTENSILS?!

BIB is what I thought when I first heard about this. I don't see how the knife could go so far in if they were just mucking about.

I thought the dinner being so late seemed odd until they mentioned innthe most recent article that it was dinner for the adults that was being cooked and Scarlett had already eaten. That's considerably less odd, particularly given they were watching the football.

Well, there was no way that knife was thrown according to the pathologist. It penetrated too deep.

I wonder if the actual truth would have leaned more to manslaughter than murder though. What happens with mum now? As a murder conviction would imply she's lied on oath.

I don't think it implies that at all - all she's really said is that she doesn't think he could murder her and she thought it was an accident? The fact that he's been found guilty doesn't mean either of those two things are lies

Was there much evidence for the case to go on? I imagine something like fingerprints on the knife would be useless, since it was their home and everyone's fingerprints could be over everything. Unless one of them pipes up with a story that's actually plausible, we'll probably never know.

Something is definitely not right. I hope they get the truth in the end but unless the mum or dad come clean I don't think we will ever 100% know the truth.

I'm also surprised but pleased about the guilty verdict, Scarlett didn't deserve to die like that, his defence was bs from the start and now he's moaning about prison food. I hope his wife sees sense because he's going to be inside for a while now.

Hit very hard in this household. Live in the town and my child goes to the same school and knew of Scarlett. Not friends but knew of her (and not for the wrong reasons!). Nice girl by all accounts, the headteachers account was very accurate (you do wonder when some die whether it's just said because it should be).

He's been sentenced to 15 years minimum. Doesn't seem like much, he will be 75 when he can apply for parole. He needs to admit to what he did.
