Sorry I was t able to comment on the poster with the obese GP. Doctors are notorious for being the biggest Hippocrates out - without derailing the thread I once lived with a doctor - the amount of coke her and her doctor boyfriend and friends consumed was frightening!! Then they’d go on shift
They all prescribe each others uppers and downers too

Just started it tonight, more or less felt nauseous immediately!! Also thought sticking the needle in would hurt more 😂 is it recommended to do it at the same time everyday?

5 pens on uk meds for saxenda is £374.I’m sorry I’d rather be fat than spend that much!
Wow, surely those prices are unsustainable!

My doctor was saying that once we get past this initial phase where demand is outstripping supply, he thinks it will become super mainstream and more affordable, similar to how Viagra used to be on prescription and quite pricy, but is now cheap enough and available over the counter.

Let’s hope that the pharma companies figure out how to 100x production and that sends the price downwards. Also I believe all the main products are coming from one company for now, surely the rest of them can figure out how to make something similar, which would also help.

I get my ozempic through the nhs as I was diagnosed type 2 diabetic last year. My sugar levels have now been at normal range for the last 6 months after being on it and I have lost 20% of my body weight. I had an appointment today with the diabetic nurse and she’s said this shortage is likely to last a while and they have been told they’re not allowed to put any new patients on the medication but I should hopefully be able to continue getting hold of it. I’ve got 1 pen which I’m due to start this weekend and then have put my repeat in so hoping I can get the next pen within the next few weeks it’s really beginning to stress me as I’m terrified of putting weight back on and going back to square 1

Day one of ozempic and no real symptoms yet other than not much appetite (could be placebo) One thing i have noticed is I hate some lemon tart and got really bad acid reflux which is not normal for me, like burning feeling bad. Has this happened to anyone else?

I’m not going to pay Quick Meds inflated price. I’m going to space out my remaining doses and hope supply issues get resolved.

Just wanted to check back in with @Somerset girl about the subscription thing re Numan - it actually is a subscription; I didn't notice when I ordered, it must have been automatic. But it looks like you can cancel easily by emailing, and you can also pause your subscription, too. Just wanted to flag :)

Thank you! That's good to know.

Day 3 of my first ever dose of ozempic. No symptoms at all. 🤷‍♀️
I am day three on my first ever ozempic too. I felt nothing day 1, yesterday had the worst heartburn and gas and today no symptoms. I’ve definitely not been as hungry and not eaten as much days 2&3 though so hoping it’s working! Hope it works for you!

I’m on day 3 of week 3 of Saxenda, and suddenly out of nowhere this evening the side effects have come for me. I’ve basically been fine until now, but this has come out of nowhere, it’s not like today was even the day I upped my dose!

I had a bit of chocolate when I got home from work and ever since have felt rotten. My stomach feels all twisty, eggy burps, touch of the runs, hiccups and coughing that ends up with a “sicky burp”, although I haven’t actually vomited,

I’ve felt like it could happen. I’ve been like this for almost 3 hours now, any advice?!

ETA: spoke too soon, just vommed 🤢😢

That’s not how drugs prices work, Viagra took years to come down in price and that was after generics came in the market after their patent ran out, a patent lasts 10 yrs

Nausea but nothing crackers couldn’t cure.

The problem seems to be price gouging from the retailers rather than the drug price, here there can be 30-50 difference in a box of 5 Saxenda pens, whereas they are paying the same price at source for the meds.

Twiddles I'm glad you've not had many symptoms! It's been the same for me.

Wanted to respond to your first post too re when you see/feel an effect that sometimes people don't see a big loss until they are at a higher dose, so don't feel disheartened if it isn't an immediate loss. On the fb groups/subreddits I've read lots of stories of people having to wait till 1 or every 2 before they really saw a change. Hopefully you do see a change sooner than that though but it's definitely a journey! Good luck!

I'm a month in, still on 0.5 and have lost 2.5kg which I'm feeling good about given I was on holiday for a fortnight of that and eating more than usual 😅 After my second week I definitely noticed the food noise quietened too. Ultimately I'd like to lose another 40kg so really here for the long haul 🙃

I'm thinking of going raw, I have 6 weeks left in pens and have tried to get some via some bloke in the US but he wanted £530 for two pens!

I have the worst heartburn and reflux ever. I’m 10 ish weeks in and still on 0.5mg. I think I will end up stuck this dose as no 1mg in sight
