I cannot comprehend how three adults have been complicit in repeatedly harming, then murdering, a child. They would have used all of their power over her to do what they did, then fled like the cowards they really are.

To leave her body like that, too, leave her all alone for hours. It’s just unthinkable.

I hope they’re on that flight in full knowledge of what they’re facing now. No story they could possibly concoct will help them, they’re only coming back to the UK because they can’t hide forever and they’ve made so many claims about the police in Pakistan - not because they know they need to face justice.

I'm not a social worker but I deal with a lot of safeguarding issues in my job which involves Education Safeguarding and I also contribute to serious case reviews. The removing of Sara for Elective Home Education is a huge red flag and the school and the Council better be certain they have followed up on her being removed and that she was seen. The council I work for would not permit a child who is subject to a MASH referral never mind on child protection or subject to Section 47 investigation to be taken off the school roll. It's just too much risk. This case has haunted me so far as it's so close to what my colleagues and I are watching out for every day. That poor little girl and her poor brothers and sisters whose sister had been murdered and had their family life has been destroyed by their parents.

There was a former Councillor who made initial comments about what a hard working man Irfan was, which was a really odd thing to say when the case was so strange from the outset. I wonder how he feels now. The adults in this family have lied and lied and treated Sara as utterly disposable and worthless

To respond to the comment earlier about her being removed from her mother- yes there were likely issues that meant children’s services believed she would come to significant harm with her mother HOWEVER if father is an abusive man the gaslighting and manipulation of authorities is not uncommon at all especially if his family members were of a similar ilk and corroborated his accounts .And it’s sad but true many kids removed from the care of a parent are then placed with someone far more dangerous and end up dead

They thought all their problems would go away if they went to Pakistan and they could escape justice as if nothing happened. The fact they took that flight right after her death proves their guilt. I don't buy what they are saying about being advised by a family lawyer friend. Everything that comes out of their mouth is BS.

They are flying back because in Pakistan the police have been BRUTAL to them. The one thing I do believe is the harassment they and their family members have probably have had to endure from the police. Still nothing compared to what that poor girl must have suffered.

At last justice will be served it seems.

I am impressed with the way the police in Pakistan have handled this. There is no official extradition treaty but the Pakistani authorities obviously didn’t want to be seen in the world’s eyes as harbouring these people so they’ve done what they can to force them back to the UK. That’s how I’ve interpreted it anyway. Any beatings they received are an added bonus as they won’t get that here.

Also impressed the UK police cuffed them and charged them as I do think they thought they could all talk their way out of it.
I am still raging about that video they made while in Pakistan saying it was an incident and that they were scared to get food or go out.
Looks like they wont be nipping out to Tescos any time soon. And they wont be safe in prison here if they murdered a child

In that video she even said they couldn’t get food for their children - but those children were with their grandfather!

Aaah karma is a beautiful thing. They thought they could escape UK law by fleeing to Pakistan and end up having to flee back to escape Pakistani law enforcement. Sometimes it's great to know that the justice system does work.

She was identified using the DNA of her mother Olga Sharif, who lives in Somerset, and another relative, the court was told. A post-mortem examination later found the youngster had suffered “multiple and extensive injuries” over a “sustained and extended” period of time.

The court heard her cause of death remains to be established, but she had “healed fractures” and injuries that “clearly demonstrate” the girl was subjected to “multiple events of violence”. She also died as a result of third-party involvement, the prosecution said.

Lawyers for the defendants indicated that they deny the charges and no application for bail was made. Deputy Chief Magistrate Tan Ikram remanded the defendants into custody before they appear at the Old Bailey on Tuesday.

Daily mail saying she was found with 2 handwritten notes under the pillow....I wonder what they were. Surely the kids who were with them will need to be interviewed etc, wonder what will happen with them.

I’m sorry but cases like this make me wish we could torture child killers to death.
I thought it strange the mum was living 5 hours away and hadn’t seen her daughter for years.
Its pretty unusual for a 1st gen Pakistani to marry a westerner.
I am tying myself up in knots trying to word how the westernised child of a failed first marriage would be viewed as less than, without falling foul of sounding culturally insensitive or racist!

Poor darling child. You mattered and I hope justice is served and your so called father never sees freedom.

Same....how did he manage to have a relatuonship long enough to have two kids with a polish woman if he can't speak English?! It's clearly not the woman cos she was reading and speaking English in the video they done. Weird tactic to pretend you can't understand English and if they are pretending it will be quickly found out through witness statements etc.

I think it’s good that an interpreter was provided, even if they weren’t really needed, because there’s absolutely no chance of anyone claiming not to have understood any legal terms or that they didn’t know what they were being asked but answered anyway under pressure.

This, along with being able to make a strong enough case in court to gain full custody of the children from that relationship. The stepmother read the notes just fine, he was happy to let her speak and not drop himself in it.

I think it’s good that an interpreter was provided, even if they weren’t really needed, because there’s absolutely no chance of anyone claiming not to have understood any legal terms or that they didn’t know what they were being asked but answered anyway under pressure.

If its the step-up claiming she can't understand English she's an even bigger idiot as she spoke with a clear English accent in the video, I just don't get why they'd actually pretend that they can't understand English...yea it's good the interpreter was provided even though they r clearly at it.
