Sara Sharif case #2

I think OP was referring to that as US himself used the words ‘legally punished’ when he reported Sara’s death. We said on the thread at the time that he could have been claiming sharia law, but he didn’t acknowledge that he went way beyond that.

Claiming sharia law but saying he (accidentally) went too far would (possibly) be a way to be accepted by a Muslim group in prison.
I don’t think it would.

How is ”legally punish” in line with Sharia, that makes no sense?
Do you know if there was a Sharia ruling?
He wasn’t living in accordance with sharia, are you just being racist?
I am quoting his words.
I take exception to your racist comment!

That’s absolutely fine, I actually agree with you, I think he’s more likely to be pushed away because of the severity of his crime.

But I still stand by my last post that OP wasn’t being racist but was using words that US himself did.

He said he legally punished her in line with sharia law? I never saw that? If that’s the full quote of what he said then I take my comment back!
He‘s a drinker and a thief so he needs some sharia in his direction.

You accused me of being racist. That is unacceptable!
You are making slanderous comments without having read the reports from the trial.
I suggest you read these before pontificating.

Read the statement that Sharif gave on the phone call to the police when he reported the death of Sara.
It was on every news channel, every newspaper.

I can’t find a source where US said that it was in line with sharia law.

As it was also reported SS specifically had told him not to hit his children, it is clear when he said legally punished he didn’t mean under English law so a logical inference is he was trying to claim it was acceptable under Sharia law - especially as there were mentions of Sara having a Jinn in some of BB’s messages which suggests they were misusing Muslim concepts as excuses for the way they treated Sara. Similarly the “make her read the qu’ran” responses from BB’s sister also suggests they were attempting to use Muslim beliefs and concepts to justify it all and shame Sara.

Nobody is saying US was a stand up Muslim or that what he did was in any way actually legal under sharia law but I’d guess the same applies to most of the Muslims in the prison populace to be honest, similarly the catholics/protestants/Hindus and whatever other religions you like in there. Doesn’t stop any of them misusing their religious concepts as an excuse though regardless.

Making an inference based on what was reported is not inherently racist and claiming it is is very odd IMO.

But you just said in the previous post that he didn’t say about sharia?

I think OP was referring to that as US himself used the words ‘legally punished’ when he reported Sara’s death. We said on the thread at the time that he could have been claiming sharia law, but he didn’t acknowledge that he went way beyond that.

God is this going to be another drama like with you and Dogmuck? Can we please not derail the thread? It’s really not a far stretch to say that if he believed he “legally” punished her that he was referring to a law he follows.

As a logical assumption, yes, and OP isn’t alone, but that’s okay - we don’t all have to agree and that certainly doesn’t make anyone racist.
I think it does. She stated it as fact, when it seems it only came from her own prejudice. But no we don’t all have to agree.

To try and get back on topic, even if US joined a gang in jail, I imagine he’s still going to be a massive target and always have to watch his back… and he deserves nothing less of course.

I wonder what type of time BB is having, I think it could go either way with her - I can see her being able to convince people it was all him and she was the put upon wife if that means she has an easier time to be honest. (Before I’m told she’s never said this I am aware - but what she said in court and what she says in jail may well be two very different things).

Yes, I wonder how much her fellow prisoners know about the trial - I assume quite a lot - so her faux concern in the messages to her sister could go either way for her. She’ll likely argue that she had to flee to Pakistan to make sure her other children were safe from the terrible UK social services (not my opinion)

Surrounded by women separated from their children though…. Can’t see her being popular.

The uncle will keep to himself I think, probably stay out of trouble and stay out of people’s way in the hope to serve his time without drama

Yeah the latter bit is why I reckon she’ll be telling them all a very different tale than she told in court, I imagine exactly like you’ve said with the fleeing, playing a specific story to an audience she reckons will sympathise.

I think being Sara’s step mum will go against her too, bet many of the women separated have kids with a step mum they perceive as evil - even if in reality they likely (hopefully) are perfectly lovely - and BB is the epitome of an evil step mum.
