I get that bit but trying to start the minimum term at fifteen years is disgusting. I know he said "significant uplift" but he shouldn't have started at fifteen.
I don't know much about the law but that just seems insulting to Sara.
I agree, 15 years is nothing for what he did to Sara. He said that there was no intention to kill but what did they think would happen? The abuse was never going to stop.

The Guardian has an article today saying a bill is going to be before Parliament to tighten up the laws and regulations around homeschooling, particularly if the child or family is under the umbrella of social services. Good. At long last!
I know these lawyers have a job to defend their client and then try get them the minimum sentence possible but how can the uncle be looking at 14 years for not getting her help but the other two who actually abused her are looking at the same? I think it's awful they are wanting him to be released some point and BB lawyers is painting her as some abused wife who will never see her children again. Who cares?? Those children are probably better off without her and she didn't care about them when she was abusing Sara.

Look I get it. BB was trapped in a relationship with no means of her own and she had a history of being isolated from her family and of mental health problems.
I know exactly how hard it is to leave an abusive relationship, especially when you’re isolated, but this was a CHILD being TORTURED. BB not only witnessed it, but took part in it.
She could have phoned an ambulance.
She could have phoned the police.
She could have told anyone at the airport.
She is no less culpable than him.

She bit her, and probably did worse but we’ll never know the full truth of what went on and who did what. I’m sorry but I have zero sympathy for her. Her children are better off without her, spineless guys the lot of them.
What a legacy that would be for Sara
She and the uncle should have put themselves in front of Sara to protect her from him, what kind of adult sits back and allows someone to brutalise a child? They make me sick.
Ditto. Leaving an abusive relationship is hard. Even with a support system. It is absolute hell and nobody should ever try and dismiss that or make out it's easy.
However, help is there. Help is available. Help is offered and it was her choice not to take it.
Sara is dead. As much because of BB as because of US.
She didn't attempt to gain medical help. She didn't attempt to get police help. She didn't attempt to escape.
She was involved in the abuse. It was happening when BB was home without the other two. Her texts show her summoning US to punish Sara. Her orders show her ordering the packing tape.
The hoods, the restraints, the burns and the bite marks.
He wasn't doing this alone. She was as involved as him.
duck off with the poor little victim act. There is an actual victim. A ten year old - defenceless - little girl is dead. Sara was tortured and murdered by both of them.
But then he did arrive into it. He did live in a 3 bed house with two other adults and 6 children where there was no way he didn’t know. And then he did nothing.
