Has anyone medically checked the other children? I mean to the extent of full x rays etc. If US was so violent and abusive to children before Sara, I wouldnt put it past him to attack all of his children!
Wasnt one of the other children disabled in some way? I desperately hope that none of this was caused by excessive shaking or physical damage as a small baby!!

I would love to see a system in the UK where homeschooling is a decision in which the parents must provide a case to social services for doing so - their own educational background or tutoring plans, the legitimate reason for pulling the child out of school. And it should always be a last resort, with the decision making recognising that group education is invaluable for a child's developmental skills. And if that decision is accepted, it should be mandatory to provide regular updates to the educational authority on the child's progress.

I think knowing that there is very, very close monitoring of homeschooling situations will reduce the number of serious safeguarding issues that arise in the UK. Sara being able to so quickly be pulled out of school with no follow up played a huge part here. It might not solve the underlying issues but it's an additional safeguard for children who are pulled out of school for reasons such as abuse.

I get the sympathy towards Olga but I’m not entirely sure that she is blameless in the whole thing either, it very much sounds like she was also abusive towards Sara and her other children. Given that, taking Sara over to Poland and burying her in a religion Sara didn’t seem to follow at all also doesn’t quite seem like it’s quite what Sara deserved either.

Another thing that really bothers me about this story is that if they had somehow hid her body and moved to Pakistan absolutely nobody would ever have found our what happened to poor Sara. She was invisible to authorities, abandoned to those monster.

How many children are currently going through this right now? How many we will never know about?

She was made to stay outside in the car when the rest of them visited. Clearly an evil racist bitch who viewed Sara as lower than her due to her ethnicity. Bumping this thread as there is likely to be a Jury inquest into Sara's death. It's due next year.

What's got me raging today is this quote from Batool's lawyer
"jurors would help determine if Sara was failed by people who were scared of being accused of racism."


Yes that's a part of it but Sara was failed and murdered by her father and step mother while her useless uncle did fuck all. You don't need a social worker to point out biting and burning and beating a child is wrong. Batool wants to give a statement because she said her voice wasn't heard. That's because she didn't give evidence not because of any great plot against her.

Where was Sara's voice when they hid her away by covering her up and then taking her out of school. I'm absolutely raging at these fuckers. (Very hormonal and had an awful day at work dealing with shitty parents)

In 10 places? Aw the torture that she suffered seems so unthinkable. What she went through makes me sick to my stomach, she deserved so much better. Was her mum also abusing her or were they accusations that US made Sara make up? Either way what chance did she have in her life.

I am absolutely dreading what is going to come out after the verdicts and restrictions have been lifted. Hearing/seeing/reading what came post verdict in the Star Hobson trial was horrendous - the picture of her bruised face still pops into my mind when I see similar looking babies. The details in this trial have been harrowing enough - I really hope the media don't release any videos or photos of Sara injured. She needs treating with some compassion and dignity now as she didn't get any in life and we the public don't need to rubberneck, we have heard her experience and know the trauma. I really hope there is media scrutiny on the culture of 'put up and pray' that seems to have been in BB's family. Being told by your sister information about a child being abused and your response is pray? No. Not good enough.

I had assumed they were fabric. The suffocation of the plastic hoods added to the manual strangulation - hyloid fracture - it baffles me that there was an argument that her death wasn't intentional.

Mr Fox thinks they should bring back the death penalty. I can't agree. This case has unleashed a deep anger and level of feeling that I haven't fathomed before. I think they should be beaten. Daily. They should be exposed to the same torture that that poor baby was. I also think they should be jet washed - alive or dead.

I am so heartbroken for Sara, her siblings, the police involved, the jury, they legal teams, the judge and every single person involved (except the defendents and BB's sisters) in this case.

This isn't child abuse. It's sadism and torture of the worst kind over a prolonged period, which was constantly covered up. Nobody could survive what they did to Sara.

BB was crying when the verdict was read out. Did she think by keeping quiet she would get away with what she did? What a disgusting coward.

Assuming they both get released eventually.
They will be given new names. Basic accommodation. Minimum benefits. No money to make their new place comfortable, not even using charity shops.
Strict rules about not contacting each other or family members.
Sent to a new place where they don’t know anyone.
They will have been institutionalised so probably unable to cope in a new world.
Too old to learn new ways, or get a job to supplement their income.
Having to shop for themselves, cook for themselves.

Basically, a living hell! Oh dear!
Might even be worse than staying in a safe warm environment in prison.

Hopefully US will be deported straight from prison. FM should be too. Don't get me wrong, I'm not anti-immigration, but if you commit serious crimes such as this, you have no right to be here

from what I heard in court and have seen in the evidence I am not sure they would qualify as a Muslim household. He drank, gambled and nicked money from his employer. She called her kids the C bomb and called them Ho’s, committed fraud, and was in a relationship with a big time Heroin dealer. Aside from the horrific treatment of Sara they don’t strike me as good Muslim family values.

They were clearly not living by their faith. Islam principles were used to cover her injuries and deflect the spotlight.

It doesn't make them religious.

Sara was buried by her mum in her mum's faith. Presumably, the faith she would have been raised with if she had stayed with her mum.

The Guardian has an article today saying a bill is going to be before Parliament to tighten up the laws and regulations around homeschooling, particularly if the child or family is under the umbrella of social services. Good. At long last!
